After transferring images my camera will no longer switch on

I am having a similar problem. Sometimes the camera will not switch on when we press the on/off button. Sometimes opening and closing the battery compartment will help. I contacted Kodak, and this morning they suggested installing the latest camera firmware version. I will try that tonight, and will let you know if it fixes the problem.

As mentioned above, Kodak suggested upgrading the firmware in the camera. I did this last week (from version 1.3 to version 1.4) and the problem appears to have gone away.

The same thing happened to me...after attempting to sync with my computer, the camera would not turn on...I was ready to send it in for repair. I tried new regular batteries and tested the batteries that were in the camera. Apprently, there has to be a certain amount of charge left for the camera to turn on. After putting brand new lithium batteries in, it finally came back on. I have a C613 and it would not run on regular batteries. Good to know!

Are you using Lithium batteries?

Most Kodak models are only happy running on Lithium batteries.

I have two Kodak cameras, both had various power-related problems. Since using Lithium batts, not a single glitch.

They are more expensive, but they end up costing less compared to the amount of alkaline batts replaced.

Worth a try.

I have a Kodak easyshare C613 and when we purchased it I had a cd that I downloaded so I could transfer the pics to my computer. I have since changed computers and no longer have the program nor can I find...

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( ).

camera should have had a usb cable in package-simply plug cable into camera and usb port and computer should recognize and offer to start transfer-if not use a memory card reader to download pics also works great and doesn't waste batterys on camera while you download
