Either choose a full mp3 song as your default ring-tone
or
Call the customer care of the Network Provider and they'll help you out with that, the max.duration for most service provider is 30secs. I suppose.

SOURCE: can I set the ringtone to ring for longer?

Try typing the following into your phone, then hitting SEND - replace the words in brackets with the relevant numbers):
**61*(voicemail or diversion phone number)**(seconds delay before diverting)#

This works for "Divert on No Answer". To check the status of this diversion use *#61#

How to make the phone ring longer

It is possible the phone will only ring for the duration of the installed ringtone. Try creating a longer ringtone on your computer from any PD music, then copying that across to your phone and selecting it as the ringtone, see if that helps.

HOW DO I MAKE MY RING TONE LAST LONGER TAHAN 10 SECONDS !

On non-smart phones with limited onboard memory they limit the ringtones to 10 seconds for a reason. If it was longer it takes more onboard memory which slows the complete functionality of the phone. If this is something you were very interested in look for a smart-phone with SD capable storage expansion. I would look for an HTC/Blackberry/iPhone as they are dedicated MP3 players as well as capable to have ringtones longer than 10 seconds. I use MP3 Direct Cut to cut my ringtones manually and for those 3 devices they all have app stores to cut and crop your ringtones to size. If this phone is capable of doing it, the file might be too big, try lowering the quality of the mp3 by using Winamp/Windows Media Player.

Ringtone

Unclear if you're using the TMobile ring tones or some that you have downloaded (or created). BION, I got longer ring times by using longer ring tone recordings. (I got mine from free sites on the net, most tones created by people from their music collections.) If you are using ring tones that aren't from T-Mobile, switch to a TM ring tone and see if that makes a difference. (If it does, then shop around for some new ring tones - the old ones were causing a problem.)

Another possibility is to check settings/phone/auto answer. Be sure this is set to "never." Also check Call Barring. Try having your blocking of incoming calls "off."

And last: put profile on "vibrate" and call yourself. Do you get more than one second of vibration? If you don't, then it's probably a phone malfunction, but if you do, it's a ring tone problem. Fairly easy to deal with. Good luck!

Bold 9000 ring and alert volume way too low, regardless of settings

Some of the ringtones in the Bold don't seem to be suited for "loud" profiles.
Try to edit your settings for the ringtone, making sure you pay attention to the correct settings.
To edit your ring settings
-go to your "profiles" screen -roll the ball to the bottom and select "advanced" -highlight the profile you want to edit -use your BB button to select "edit"
-choose the "phone" application -choose the setting you would like to edit (in holster or out of holster) -choose your volume setting from here.
This should solve your problem

Ringing time

your phone accepts downloaded audios for ringtons, if you want a long ringtone, you may set a whole song to be your ringtone, or perhaps a long ring ring sound.

or if you only want your regular tones to be longer, try to set the ringer to "ASCENDING"

Ring tones

You'll need a loader program. You can go to http://www.hofoufn.com and look for UFNJal. It's the only TRUE offline loader for iDEN phones. It is VERY easy to use(drag & drop which no other loader for iDEN phones has). It also has the current drivers needed to make your computer recognize your phone.

The ringtones will need to be in the right format in order for them to work. It can use MP3 ringtones. They need to be no longer than 30 seconds, and must be 32kbps, 8-bit, mono.
