Question about Kenmore 4292x Front Load Washer
I leave the door to my washer open so it can dry out after I'm done using it. I hadn't used it in a few days, and when I went to do a load today, I discovered the drum filled with water and overflowing all over the floor. I closed the door and ran a Drain & Spin to drain the tub (after I shut the water valves off). After I cleaned up the mess, I turned the valves back on and ran a load and it worked fine. Any ideas what might have happened?
The water valve on the washer did not close properly and is leaking past the seal. It is possible that it was a one time event and won't happen again, but most likely you will need to replace the valve. It will probably get worse as time goes on.
They are fairly simple to replace on most washers. If you will post the complete model number of the washer I will try to post instructions on how to repair it. Turn your supply valves off when you are not using the washer until you get it replaced.
