If you have a "r03" display, then you need to go into your CSM Menu, and scroll down to CSM #4, and turn LONG EXP. NR to "OFF". When you are in Noise Reduction Mode, your D100 buffer is literally cut in half.

What digital nikon cam works autofocus in a nikkor micro AF 105mm f/2.8D?

This lens lacks the autofocus motor, so it will only autofocus on cameras with the motor. This lens will autofocus on every Nikon digital SLR except for the D40, D40x, D60, D3000, D3100, D5000, and D5100. It will autofocus with the D1 family, D2 family, D3 family, D50, D70, D70s, D80, D90, D100, D200, D300, D300s, and D700 (I hope I haven't left any out).

Err is usually a camera malfunctrion. Re,ove the batery,a aaaaaatuen camera switch off/on 2-3 times *as if battery still in), replace battery and try again. Read Owners manual or got to Nikonusa.com to download a manual (or to ask Nikon) and determine if your D100 has a hardware reset switch(my dc70 does) and utilize that. If tht does not solve the issue, then service by an authorized Nikon tech is advised.

Error r06 in viewfinder when focus is locked. I origionally had r03 because I had the long expoure noise reduction set to "on". I changed that setting to "Off" and now I have r06 ??? Any help would be...

Hi,

This is not an error, this is telling you how many more continuous shots you can take before the buffer fills up and you have to wait a while for it to empty.
Take a few quick shots and you will see it go down.
It means R(emaining) shots.

I used to worry about this.

Hope this helps.

Low light no focus

The Nikon D100 custom settings option 22 - AF Assist, controls the AF Assist light.
Check if this has been turned off.

This option controls whether the auto-focus assist light comes on in low light to help autofocus
latch onto the subject.

Nikon 18-55 zoom lens doesn't autofocus

You might like to check if the A/M slider switch on the lens by the Nikon label is set to A.
It sometimes gets moved accidently.
Set to M the lens will not autofocus.

Nikon D100 lens interface problem

This normally means that you have forgotten to set the lens aperture control to it's minimum aperture (the highest number). On the D100 the aperture control is via a wheel on the camera body instead of via the physical control on the lens aperture ring.

Stuck shutter D100 Nikon

The R06 is the buffer indication, not part of the error. It would appear more work is required. Other components may have failed, or the shutter itself may be bad.

I'm afraid this one is not a DIY. Nikon is pricey on repairs, you may fair better checking the repair service search here on Fixya.

Error Code

No, it's not an error. What this display indicates, is the availability of the total number of photos you want to take. If the display says, "r06", then you are in JPEG Mode. If it says "r03", then you are either 1) in RAW Mode, or 2) have your Noise Reduction on (see FAQ #2). As you take a few photos in succession, you will notice the indicator drops by how many photos you took.

Nikon D100 randomly has "err" code flashing

You need a new shutter box.
It may be worth cleaning the contacts on both camera and lens.
Clean the contacts in the lens mount using a fiberglass "pencil" designed specifically for cleaning contacts. These are available at just about any photo supply store/firm.

send it to nikon. seem like a common problem
