Panasonic pt47wx54j horizontal static in screen, static noise in bottom right in rear of t.v. plugged directly into d.v.d. player with same problem.

This often happens when the logic board or the screen itself is is about to give in. Some times it can be a build up of static which does happen with these HDTV's, Try the following

• Plug the TV directly into the wall, no extensions or adapters
• Turn off the wall socket
• Press and hold the power button on the TV in for about 30 seconds
• Turn on the power at the wall back on and check you TV

This is called a static discharge and often will fix issues like this. If you still have this issue you may have to take it to a repairer.

This is one of several models that had a common problem.

If set comes on with sound and you after a minute or two see a faint odd band of noise top to bottom on the screen to the right side C509 which is a .047 cap at 200 volts is bad.

Cap is seen in attached photo(location marked and cap here gone).

The cap when you locate it from the C509 number which is on top and bottom of board may have a crack or not---it is the cause of this problem.

There is a hard way and a easy way to get at it--let me know and I will explain.

There are several brown caps here and some plugs here are removed.

I would not try operation of the set in this condition too long.

A regular mirror will not work correctly---best bet is Google the model number with "mirror" as some sell mirrors and if that fails call Panasonic to see if available, part number, cost and where to order it.

Ur convergence it dead.Must replaced the 2 convergence ICS.Know how to solders?Tries Tv repair World.com,Tvrepairkits.com for the convergence kit to repair it ur self.The Shop will cost U $300 parts and labors.

you need to go to your remote, look up menu. then select "convergence"...this will give you a "crosshairs pattern to align your "guns" ...it has three red, blue, and green.....try not to move the TV around too much....its knocking them out of alignment

Dirty heads or the recording was from a different brand VCR and the Panasonic cant get the right tracking. Try manual tracking just a little in either direction to you get the right one.

the vertical IC outpt needs to be replace

You may need to add an ignition noise line filter to your DC power supply. These can be purchased from any electronics store. Your problem is ignition noise or alternator noise caused by dirty brushes within the alternator. A line filter will take care of this.
