Hi There, I have an Aspire 5610/ BL50 running on Vista. Im having problem connecting to a 3 broadband dongle. Its showing 5 blue bars signal strength but failing to connect. When I use it on another...

you should check the set APN on the vista pc. or if settings are inserted by default, simply uninstall and reinstall the 3 broadband dongle. if problem persists, and you are sure it has worked before, do system restore to a date you think connection was ok. malware or virus may cause modems to fail initializing connection.
thanks for using fixya.

I have tried to restore my computer and keep getting the message of failed reason Oxf0000005.

This is a message that is given with a blue screen? If so then it is a Common error message for Missing NTLDR. Reinstall OS again.
What version of Windows and how far into the Restore are you getting to when you get this issue?
Also, it could be an issue with the restore image/files that you are using that is causing the problem.

Restore on acer aspire 1410 using recover cd failed got error 0XD0000009

Hi,

You can restore the computer back to factory default,to do so, follow the below steps: Turn OFF the computer, now as soon as you hit the power button, keep on holding "Alt" key & keep on tapping "F10" key, i.e Alt+f10, it will open the recovery console, select full factory restore and follow onscreen instruction.
NOTE: This will erase all the datas on the computer.

Thanks and regards,
Jitha

Acer e Recovery Error code: 0xC0000003Open image failed. Found

The image stored on your laptop to restore it to factory original is corrupted. If the laptop still boots, try to make restore media using the acer erecovery management console, although this will likely not work if the image is corrupt. Try installing windows with these discs if you can. If not you have 2 options:
  1. Contact acer and order restore discs (free if in warranty) or about $50 out of warranty.
  2. Reinstall windows using an OEM Windows cd and the keycode on the windows sticker on the bottom of the laptop. You will have to download all hardware drivers manually though, and you will not have any of the softawre provided by acer. The restore discs from acer are by far the best option....Let me know if this helps.

Restore failed - reason 0xa000000e

Did you install a new hard drive in the Acer? They have had problems when trying to restore windows onto a new drive or trying to use system restore on the existing drive. The same error message comes up.

It seems that when the pqservice partition is not on the drive, the recovery DVD won't work if the drive contains any partition (Restore Failed - reason 0xa000000e) is all you will see.

However, try deleting everything on the drive (leaving only unpartitioned space) before putting in the recovery DVD. The eRecovery tool first says that it is repartitioning the drive and then starts the install successfully.
I hope this helps.
