I have got the same problem. i have had my Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 for about 7 months and it hs worked well, until today. I was just playing a game like normal and it just cut off on me. have change the battires but still no luck. i have noticed that the light has gone faster than it normaly goes, it will not connect and the strange thing is that usaly when the Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 tries to connect, the light next to the mode button wont light up but it will when the reciever is not connected to the copmputer. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!
The 5 + 7 buttons work for teh OLD versions that take FOUR batteries and have the RED Logitech logo.
The New versions, which use TWO battreies has an ORANGE logo use buttons 6 + 8 to reset sticks.
Whatever postition the sticks are in when that battery is put back in will be condiered new calibrated center.
From Logitech:
To re-calibrate, please do the following:
Remove one battery.
Hold the six (6) and eight (8) buttons simultaneously while re-inserting the battery. (NOTE: Do not touch or move the mini-joysticks at all during this time. It is very important that the mini joysticks are allowed to center themselves during this step or the calibration procedure will not be successful.)
The mini-joysticks should now be re-calibrated.
Press botton at the front of receiver at the same time with 5 and 7...the light on the receiver will go off and controller will start working again...
Unplug Trasmitter from computer, re-insert batteries in contoller, when light blinks re-insert transmitter into computer
My Rumblepad 2 stopped working and I got it replaced with a new one as it was still under warranty. Now the new one stopped working too. No combination of buttons and batteries ever helped. So I solved the problem by throwing it in garbage and buying another brand (X-Box wireless controller) and it is working like charm. Thanks to Logitech for manufacturing faulty devices and then leaving their customers stranded without any solution.
I just pushed the button on the receiver and now my controller works just fine :)
THIS WORKS FOR 100%
I've trying to get my rumblepad2 controller back to life for 30minutes.
This is what u have to do:
-take out 1 battery
-press and hold buttons 5 and 7
-while holding these buttons insert the missing baterry - everything's ready to play! :))
The holding down button 5 an 7 trick helped me...THANKS A BILLION :D
1. Remove one battery from the controller
2. Press the front button on the reciever
3. DO NOT TOUCH JOYSTICS! Hold down 5 and 7 while placing the battery back
4. Hold 5 and 7 for few seconds
The Battery removal/reset thing worked great! thanks guys, this thing has gotta be 8 years old and that little trick has it working like a brand new item! Thanks!
I pressed a button on the RECEIVER and it works again!
I have same problem to, but if i unplug it and take battery's out and press the button on the adapter several times it works somewhat again.

have the same problem
I think I have the same problem. I have a week-old cordless rumblepad 2 which worked fine until yesterday. I've got fresh batteries in it and I'm getting no activity on the pad; no blinking on any button presses (with receiver disconnected), no vibration when I press the 'vibration' button, and obviously no activity with the receiver when it's connected. The only sign of life (hope?) is that when I insert the batteries, the light on the pad flashes once.
help?
Same problem here. Have had my rumplepad for less than a week when it did exact same thing. It just stopped working. The most frustrating part is that i went to logitech's website and requested help for this issue days ago and nobody has gotten back to me yet. You would think that a company would support the products that we the consumers spend so much of our money on.
Same problem. I've actually returned one of these because of this problem. Now the replacement unit has done the same thing.
I hve two units. Both worked for a couple of months. Now one doesn't.
My Rumblepad 2 worked fine for 18 months and now does not respond to any input. The pad LED flashes continually but does not respond to input. New batteries make no difference. I have uninstalled the software, cleaned the registry and re-installed but no joy.
Got the same problem here. Vibration button works but nothing else. Reinstalled drivers and even OS(xp pro). LED on the controller flashes quickly sometimes when I put in new batteries but other then that the only signs of life is the ******** button seemingly working. I assumed it was bad batteries at first but switching to completely fresh batteries does nothing.
I have exactly the same problem as the original poster... I doubt I'll find the receipt so I guess it's just junk...
every time i hit a butten on my controler the red light next to the mode will just blink and then shut off i thought it was the batteries at first but even with brand new ones it still does it and also the wireless receiver keeps blinkind pretty much the same way
i have the same problem
I have the same problem AND I HAD IT FOR ONLY 3 DAYS
Thanks for the 5 and 7 buttons trick. It helped me, too!
