Problem with USB Flash

posted by Curlykell on Jan 01, 2008

I recently bought a usb flash memory 1GB to store photo's & such on it,.
When i plugged the usb in the computer a bubble comes up & says the usb has malfunctioned & windows does not recognize it.
The memory stick is brand new & there was no CD to support it, its a good brand so i'm not sure what to make of it.
Can anyone please give me some guidence.

It is possible the memory stick is faulty. Are you using xp or vista? If so it should be recognised instantly. I bought one the same a couple of weeks ago, and it recognised it instantly, and I'm using xp.

Try it on another computer if possible, even where you purchased it. Just tell them you think it's faulty. If it works on that computer then you have a problem with either your usb ports or you have a virus.
