Re: iPod issues

Make sure the 'wheel' on the right of the remote is set to "source"

then hit "display" on bottom right

'signal iput' or either "ipod" should show up on the display of the A/V

you want "signal"

from there just toggle the up and down/ L and R arrows and hit 'enter' (center button) to select track

How do I connect IPOD (Generation 5) to my AVR 135?

RCA cable should only be sending sound through the headphone jack to the amp not files. This would then be selectable through an AV or external source rather than USB or iPod option

Plug my Ipod into the HDMI port and and unit shuts down with red light on the power switch fashing. Why

Hello there.
I presume you are using the correct adapter.....

The Apple Digital AV Adapter is compatible with the fourth generation iPod Touch

For Fifth generation ipod you need this

Follow these steps carefully, it should work

The flashing red ??? You ARE connecting the iPod to some form of power aren't you ?
The steps in the above tell you to use a usb cable at the same time.

Ipod won't work with Pioneer DEH2500UI anymore. Worked fine at first but won"t even recognize the Ipod now.

Check the cable connection, they can go wrong and downgrade the signal so it doesn't recognise the device anymore.

How do I connect apple tv to my Yamaha htr 5280?

If you have apple tv 1st generation then connect using RGB and optical for audio.
if 2-3 generations you cant, because newer models have hdmi only,
which is not present in your yamaha.

We have had this system for more than 6months. We turned it on the other day to discover no sound output. Nothing through blueray, iPod, cd or even TV. We have 2 x hdmi cables and 1 x optical cable. Any...

It can be either problem with the receiver itself, cables or your speakers. You can try different combinations to narrow down the issue.
1) Also the radio does not work?

2) Try to run the Test tone to the speakers (Setup / Speaker setup / Manual setup / Test tone). If you hear the tone, then the issue is configuration problem with your inputs.

3) If possible, try to connect headphones to the receiver. If that works, it can be issue with cables/speakers or their setup.

4) Try to run the Automatic Speaker setup with YPAO microphone. It will eventually fail, but will provide you error code, which you can lookup in the manual for different reasons.

5) Try disconnecting all the cables and reconnecting them again, possible trying left speaker with right cable and right speaker with left cable.

Hi I have a wharfedale is73 ipod docking micro system and I cannot get my ipod classic to work on it. I have tried a different ipod on it and it works fine.

Unfortunately, there are many ipod docks that are not compatible with the full range of ipod generations. Usually the case is that on older docks newer ipods dont work and vice versa.
Hopefully this helps

Hook up patio speakers and use my cd/dvd/cable/ipod outside only

i'm not sure if this will work, but you could try connecting the rca stereo cables from you cable box to the cd input on the receiver those would be analog. then you could use the music channels at least. as for an ipod maybe sort of the same thing using an av cable instead of the dock;like i said i don't know if it will work but just a thought.

Connecting ipod to yamaha A/V receiver

To see video output on your televison, you need one of hte following versions of the Ipod:
  • iPod touch
  • iPhone (software version 1.1.1 or later required)
  • iPod nano (3rd generation)
  • iPod classic
  • iPod (5th generation)
  • iPod with color display (iPod photo)
When you plug the cord into your Audio receiver, the Ipod is only sending audio to the receiver. For your iPod to send video output to your television, you will need to buy an AV cable for your tv. Here is the link to Apple's website where you can view the A/V cables that will allow you to watch video on your television. Here it is
