Click the start button, than click run. Type the word command and press enter. A DOS window will open. Type in: ipconfig than press enter. You should see something like:
Windows IP Configuration,
Ethernet adapter local area conncetion
Connection-specific DNS Suffix .:hsd1.xx.xxxxxxx.net.
Where xxx is my connection IP Address......:192.168.1.100
Subnet Mask......:255.255.255.0
Default Gateway......:192.168.1.1
If this is what you see your network card is connected & working. If you do not see this, than shut down the PC & remove the network card clean it's slot & reseat & reboot. To exit from the DOS window type exit & press enter.
While your Pc is shut down unplug the power to your Cable or DSL. Look for the reset button (a small hole), using a pen press & hold for ten seconds. Plug the power back in. Re-start your PC. Redo the above with ipconfig.

Click start, right click my computer, click properties, click hardware, click device manager, open network adapters by clicking the + right click the network card and click uninstall. Reboot the machine and windows should find the card and reinstall on it's own but you should try to have the cd that came with the card or download the driver from a differant computer before you start in case windows cannot load the driver and you can browse to the file to load the drivers.

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

Trying to install a linksys wireless B ethernet card. When I installed the wireless network adapter it tells me I need to download a internet controller. Where can I find the internet controller download...

It's not a internet controller, it's the driver.
It's not the driver for an emachine w3653 (which is the pc) it's the driver of the Linksys wireless card. Go here
http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-us/wireless/linksys
go to the page of your card and from there get the Vista driver.

I have an emachines t3256 desktop that i just reinstalled windows xp and now i cant get the network adapter to work its onboard and i cant find a driver on their website

Try installing a PCI ehternet card.Turn off the cpu then restart. The cpu will automatically (!?)detect the new hardware and even install the driver(generic). Then there you can get to the internet and get you E-machine drivers. It will also install the driver for your onboard ethernet(NIC) adapter and with that you are good to go.

Having problems with internet explorer not connecting to the internet. The only thing I can find out so far is that my network adapters are missing the hardware is ok though..

You need to reinstall the network adapter drivers. Do you have the software for the drivers? If not go to the computer management tool. On the start button click on run and type: compmgmt.msc. Click on device manager, on the right find network adapters. Double click and click on driver tab find what you need to do and reinstall your driver. I hope this works for you.

Cannot connect to internet after reinstall T5020

The reason you are unable to access the internet is most definitely your lack of a Ethernet/LAN driver.

When you reinstall windows all your previous drivers will be uninstalled and only the most basic devices will be recognized.

Hopefully you will be able to locate the Driver CD that came with your PC as I have been searching for a good 30 minutes and am yet to find the particular driver you are searching for.

Hope this information helps ;)

Ip config is not finding my ip address?

No IP address? most likely the network is diable or the network card drive is deleted.
right click on the network icon>>porperties. if you see a network icon then right click on it and enable the network, if not, then the network driver is deleted.
go to control panel>>system>>hardware device, and see if there is a (red X) on the nework card.
go to the vendors website and download the network driver.

good to go!!!!!!!!
