There are no drivers for Vista. Camera does work in XP very well. Suggest using a card reader to retrieve pictures and video from SD Chip.

Have Windows XP, but am having trouble downloading video from camera onto computer. Instructions manual leaves a lot to be desired. Accompanying software is no longer supported by Arcsoft. Can't find plain, simple instructions for obtaining video from camera so I can email it.

DigiGr8 DV182 - I have inserted batteries and a 4GB SDcard but when I switch it on, the screen just says "Welcome" and does nothing else. Without the SD card it looks like to will work but says "No Card"...

The problem is with the 4 GB smart card you are using. You need to exchange it for a 2 GB smart card and that is all this little camcorder can handle. Hope this helps.

Unable to download Photos

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

I have had this camera for around 4 years now. It works fine. I basically plug in the firewire connection on my camera switch it on to playback/camera mode then plug the other end into to my computer my operating system picks it up fine without any problems. It doesn't require any drivers windows will auto install any drivers it needs. Not sure why you are getting this problem.
