If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heatingthe most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glowssometimes it is still not working properly.

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many differentthings that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

SOURCE: I have a samsung dryer.
there are two things you may need to replace if the unit works on timed dry then you first thing to replace is the moisture sensor bar.The other thing to replace is the main electronic control board.

Hello, welcome to FixYa.
Based on your description you have a Samsung dryer and with my experience, I'd say it is possible (and very likely) the belt has come off, thus activating the "kill switch".
I've seen this many, many times...though the belt usually doesn't break it just comes off. Very common for Samsung dryers for whatever reason.
**Unplug the unit before proceeding...safety first**...
The good news is if you can get to it from the back you can simply remove the small panel around the exhaust tube as shown here,
if it's not accessible from back you'll need to go from the front...that's do-able too, just a little more involved. Let me know.
Once in the back the belt should look like this when routed properly, with the "V" grooves towards the drum and motor pulley.
i.e.
Hope that moves you forward...or even better, fixed up.
