RCA OPal M4002 MP3 Player Problem

We bought a new RCA M4002 MP3 Player for Christmas and cannot get the computer to recognize it. When we plug it into the USB port, it does not show up as a device. Any suggestions?

Hi, How do I delete music from my Opal M4002 mp3 player?

if you want to delete music from your Opal M4002 mp3 player, all you need is use the usb of the player and connect to your computer. If the computer recognizes your usb then a folder will pop up and you choose open folder. Then you can right click on the music you want to delete from the player. That is all you have to do.

Hold in the volume + button, and then reconnect to computer while holding in the volume + button, after 10-30 seconds of holding in volume +, a Found New Hardware Wizard should pop up.

You need to actually get the newer software/drivers from the RCA website and THEN it is compatible - they are not explicit in the FAQ about this.

Flash mp player (rca m4002)

Reset first.
If fails, Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
