Re: Information

Chooses the temperature.
Being general, usually the higher the number the higher the temperature.
Check your garment for the correct temperature and the instructions for iron for the exact temperatures represented.

Hope it helps

What can be done about leaking steam?

ensure your iron steam button is not set into perminent steam function. leaving the iron with the point of the iron pointing upwards should reduce steam to the handle. also the iron may need to be descaled to ensure any steam switch funtion is not stuck in an on position.

Wet steam coming out of iron

You have to take part the iron by unscrewing the three bolts on the side handle with a small phillips driver. Then loose the allen screw on one side of the black thermostat wheel to unloosen it. Then take out the two bolt plastic protectors under the handle and unscrew the two allen bolts, carefully separate the top from the botton of the iron, carefully not to pry loose the cables from the top to the hot shoe.
On the back you will see a small white square box, that is the thermostat, which has a button on top, all you need to do is to push it in. This will make the iron heat up unless you have a thermostat failure (Black wheel with temperature indicators), which you will need to order the part and change it.

Sunbeam steam valet instructions

How to fill your Sunbeam Steam Valet
Here is how you fill your Steam Valet. Press the small button on the back of the handle and pull bottom of handle apart from the top half of steam valet. Then take off the white cap on the inside of the handle and fill with water to top. Place cap back onto the opening and slide handle back and click in place. Plug in and you're ready to steam within a few minutes. If it spits out water let heat up a little longer if that doesn't stop it then tie a thin cloth over the top part where steam comes out to keep the water from spitting out onto your fabric. Hope these instructions are clear enough. More questions about this iron go to

Steam button not working

I had the same problem. I found the trigger button at You'll have to pry off the rubber grip, and unscrew one or two screws on the handle, bu the trigger inserts neatly into the space. Screw it back together, snap on the rubber grip and it will work like new. Below is the part number & price.

Rowenta DG0123 Knob Trigger, Blue $9.99 (plus shipping)

Watch out, the next thing that will go is the on/off switch. Once it starts getting difficult to turn the unit on or off, just plug and unplug it until you get the new part, or you will be stuck one day and need the iron and go to turn it on and it wont start.

The part is $20, and the same site has it available.

No steam comes out of iron

Hi, there is probably a something broken in the moulded plastic trigger assembly (there is a plastic broken finger that actuates a micro-switch under the rubber handle cover). If you are so inclined, use an orange stick and gently pry up the rubber handle cover on either side from the front to the rear cord end to access, inspect and troubleshoot. I am in SoCal and use the California Electric website to obtain parts or go to the Rowenta home website to locate useful manual information, PDF reader and dealer near you.

Rowenta steam pressor about 5 yrs. old

Push the small brown/grey button just below the pump button, then pull the handle down to disconnect it. The top of the handle inside, has a cap you can peel off, and add water there.
