My craftsman air compressor will only pump to 40/45 psi and it takes several minutes for this even. The pump broke and I feel the reason was due to extended running and never pressuring up to full psi to shut off. I have rebuilt the pump and feel like it is ok now. Any Suggestions?
I have a 1.5 horsepower 15 gallon air upright air compressor. It comes on and runs fine, but it will only pump up to 30 lbs of pressure. I have replaced the pressure swith and cleaned the check valve. Still no luck. I need help. Of course it is only one year old, but still out of warranty.

My craftsman 1hp model# 921-153100 Starts and builds pressure to 125lbs, after I blow the pressure down it starts up and goes to about 35lbs and shuts off. Cylinder head is hot. Possible running capacitor 40uf??. Checked with Sears they want too much to repair, I paid $99.00 for it.
Craftsman 1hp 4 gal model no# 921.166380
will run to 125psi one time. After I use it one time it will not go back to 125psi it will only go to 25psi and then shut down (This is Brand new)
may need to check the adjustment on presure relief valve on tank or check pop off valve on the top of the pump head.there may be some debree stuck in valve.
