I've got an Aspire 4935 and when I switch it on it starts up ok but after the Windows Logo the screen goes blank but it is still starting up normal.When I go into Setup mode the screen works.Yesterday I installed the nVidea drive from the Acer disc.

Depending on your version of windows, I would trying starting in safe mode to see if the computer does boot. If it does, then you want to restart again, go to advanced boot options and select "start windows with last known good configuration." Access advanced boot options following the steps at this link. The micro processor of your acer aspire 4935 was over-heated. Try to have cooling fan on it or else just replace the micro processor on it.

Do you see the Toshiba Logo? then goes blank until windows starts that is quite normal.

Try to start the compute in safe mode, and check if the computer works without any issue, to access safemode, you have to press the F8 key while you get the Acer Logo.

Try restoring the Operating system by pressing Alt+F10 when you get the Acer logo and follow the screen.

1.Please keep pressing and releasing F8 key when ACER logo is coming.
2.start the computer in safe mode by selecting it in advanced OS choice menu.
3.If started in safe mode go to programs>accessories>system tools>system restore and restore the system to a back date by selecting a bold previous date in calender.

Idf not booting in safe mode also you may need to reinstall the OS again.

yes . we will see if it is problem with the harddisk or motherboard. if you cant do that when you see Acer logo press alt+f10 to recovery.
