Re: emachine model t3302 ethernet card

This is how the wireless world works. You buy a wireless router with a four port switch. Your DSL or cable connects to that. A cable called a Rj45 connects the DSL or cable to the back of the wireless router. You also buy a wireless network card for your PC. After running the software for the router & the wireless nic card including setting up a home network through windows your daughter will be able to connect that computer to your network from any room in the house. Below is a link to a wireless router:
You can connect up to four computers to the wirless router. A computer that does not connect to the router by a Rj45 must use a wireless network card. Linksys WMP54G Wireless-G PCI Adapter Retail:
As you will see there is a big differance between a NIC card & a wireless card.

I've downloaded the Realtech driver version 6.110 but it won't work after installing it. I contacted Asus tech support but they said Windows 2008 Server isn't supported on this box.

You might just need another driver either a lesser model no or a later model ethernet driver no.

if these packages are not the right

On the home page you should see a search tab just type in what you are looking for
tick in the box for windows software or all software box

IE: Motherboard name wireless or Ethernet driver
you might have to try a few times to get it right

hope this helps

Ethernet controller missing hp compaq dx2200

That's probably why you've 2 network cards on your computer. Check is it's so, then connect your cable to the other connector and your network connection will work.
You can see in the control panel under network connection if you have to connection.
The card with the yellow question mark need drivers. For that check that on the vendor website.

Need new Ethernet drivers.

Without getting onto the internet, you're not going to be able to get the driver from them.

Your best bet is to get onto a computer at a friend's or library, and download the driver to a flash drive.

Once you get home, you can install it. In checking, Realtek appears to have all the current Vista compatible drivers available on their website.

Need to find network driver

i) Click on  Start button ---->Select option Control Panel------>Select Network Connections----->

a new window appears showing the "internet connections icon " Such as:

Local Area Connection 1 or 2 or 3 and since you are not connected it will show this icon as:

eg1:   Local Area Connection 1 or 2 or 3
       Network Cable Unplugged, Firewalled
       VIA compatible Fast Ethernet

in this case u can download VIA network drivers....from internet..

  eg2:  Local Area Connection 1 or 2 or 3
          Network Cable Unplugged, Firewalled
Realtek RTL8139 Family Fast Ethernet NIC

in this u can download "Realtek RTL8139" network  drivers.... from internet(which is showing model    no: RTL8139 through google search engine )

ii) Click Start button ---->Select RUN option ----> type in the text box    devmgmt.msc  --->Select Network Adapters....

but this will show wheter ur network adapter or NIC is VIA or Realtek or......but does show the correct Model NO: of VIA or Realtek....

so i would suggest to follow the step (i)

Thanking you

It sounds like you need to reinstall the driver for the Realtek network interface card (NIC). I recommend accessing the Gateway web site to find the model number of the laptop, and then download the driver for the Realtek NIC. This should restore the functionality.

Emachine model T3302 desktop ethernet question

The "Realtek RTL 8139/810X family fast Ethernet NIC card" is a wired networking device. What you need is a WiFi Networking which can either be a PCI card (you need to open the PC and physically mount it inside) or perhaps the easiest, is to get a USB WiFi. There are so many brands, models and versions available and just about any would work. You need to verify though that the USB WiFi is compatible with your daughter PC's operating System (XP or Vista). Some known good brands are LinSys, DLink, NetGear. Some models/versions are simple gadgets that they look like a thumb/flash drive while others have a USB cable with a tabletop mount/rack/cradle.

Such can be bought from any computer shoppe/store. Most models come with an instruction/installer/driver CD that you need to run first before plugging in the WiFi USB.

If you already have an existing DSL account that connects to the Realtek, you would also need to get a Wireless AP/Router. It would probably be easier if you get a match pair (same brand)

If this is a completely new DSL WiFi setup, you need to get in touch with any WiFi Provider in your area. Most would provide a free USB WiFi Adapter if you subscribe to them so there would be no need to buy the USB WiFi adapter nor the Wireless AP/Router.

Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turn out or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
