I have a black box on my screen, when it first came on it had a website adress in the black box. I have called my satellite people and they tell me to re frmat my tv screen.

The black square is a text box for the deaf. You can turn it on and off with the closed captioning button on your remote or from the closed captioning section in your television's menu.

However if you are connecting a cable box or satellite tv receiver you would need to turn the text box off from its menu. There is often a hidden menu that needs to be accessed on the cable boxes and satellite tv receivers that can be reached by turning it off and then immediately pressing the menu button on the outside of it. For more details about a specific cable box or satellite tv receiver call your cable or satellite company.

Hello. When the screen goes blue it means that you have lost your signal from the cable or the satellite. It could be the cable which connects the tv to the signal supply source, the cable box or the satellite box. I recommend that you replace that cable.

If it continues call your cable or satellite provider and tell them what is happening as it could lie in their equipment, and not yours. Joe

The problem was not actually the tv the fault was on the satellite box. I unplugged the box from the mains to reset it and the picture was restored to normal.
