No install cd for wusb54gs

There is a history of difficulty installing this wireless software. I have found the easiest way to install it, is: 1. First, remove the device and the install disk, go to the control panel and select install/uninstall software and uninstall it, if is on the list. 2. Restart the computer with the device plugged in. 3. Once booted the computer will tell that a new device has been installed. 4. Let the install wizard attempt to install the device. 5. When asked for, insert the manufacturer's disk and install only the drivers. 6. Remove the disk. This should have you up and running, Good luck.

Brand new aspire 5732z laptop comes up with code 31 fault on virtual wifi miniport adaptor says it has driver fault, what can I do

The Microsoft virtual wifi miniport adapter is a new feature in Windows 7, Wireless Hosted Network:

About the Wireless Hosted Network

This device is just a virtual device and it should not affect connecting the wireless network with the physical wireless adapter.

Hence, I’d suggest you to uninstall and re-install only the wireless network adapter drivers from Device manager and check if that fixes the issue.

Before uninstalling the drivers from the device manager, make sure you have a backup of the installation files.

It’s a good idea to create a restore point before uninstalling the drivers. A restore point is a representation of a stored state of your computer's system files. You can use a restore point to restore your computer's system files to an earlier point in time. Restore points are automatically created by System Restore weekly and when System Restore detects the beginning of a change to your computer, such as when you install a program or a driver.

Create a restore point

Visit the manufacturer’s website, download the latest wireless drivers and save it on your hard disk.

To uninstall the wireless connection from Device Manager,

1. Click Start, type Device Manager in the Start search box and hit Enter.
2. Locate Network adapters and expand the same.
3. Select the wireless connection, right-click and select Uninstall.
4. Restart the computer, if prompted.

Drivers should get installed automatically after restarting the computer.

Now, you may install the latest wireless drivers and check if that fixes the issue.

Hope this helps

I tried to re-install the software (on Vista) after uninstalling it in an attempt to go from USB to wireless. In the attempt to go to wireless, the reconfig. went to 96% and stopped. It never went further....

Ok heres what I would do; Firstly make 100% sure that ALL HP Printer related sw is uninstalled. Then reboot and use either of the following registry repair tools in these links >> or After cleaning the registry restart your system and then go to this link >>> and download the latest HP printing suite for this printer. Install it and then test printer. Hope it goes well

Having software removal problems.

If you have already tried standard uninstall from the Start>All Programs>Comanche 4 and from the control panel Add/Remove programs, you may have to do an over-the-top install and then uninstall. It's possible your installation has been corrupted and the necessary uninstall files are inaccessible.
Otherwise, you could run chkdsk (see here or here) to attempt to repair any file corruption in your system, and then attempt standard removal.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

Cannot Install Ativa Drivers

Hi Mark,

apparently you are not the only one having problems installing that device. See here.

So my suggestion would be to download the driver from here.
(90Mb??? - can that thing make coffee too?. Oh I see...they included Internet Explorer 6 in that package...Jeez..).

I just assume that you're running Win XP, but the procedure for Vista is similar.

Unzip the file.

Important: Do NOT use their setup.exe!

Plug in the USB adapter and let Windows try to install it. When it can't find the driver, point to the directory, where you unzipped the files. The file you're looking for is called "ODWGU.inf".
If Windows installs some driver which might not work, go into the Device Manager and update the driver from there.

If you have problems uninstalling their software, try "Revo Uninstaller". This software has a "Hunter Mode", that will help to uninstall even the most obnoxious software. I use it all the time, because it also removes all the **** that Windows uninstallers leave behind.

Ideally you have a clean machine to start from, so you might want to begin with removing their software first.

Please let me know if this worked for you.

Delete the Cyberlink folder in C:\Program Files\; Go to Add/Remove Programs and attempt uninstall - it will say it can't uninstall, and ask you if oyu want to remove it from the program list. Click yes. Go to start->Search (or Find) and search for Cyberlink (make sure that Hidden and System files are being searched). Delete all Cyberlink files. Do the same, but with PowerDVD. Download and run CCleaner. Attempt to reinstall PowerDVD.

Failed to install

Belkin drivers are a bit of a pain, uninstall the drivers again and remove the usb adapter, and follow exactly as per instructions, normally driver first, but ignore the pop up about the driver not being a signed windows if it does, just click install anyway. toward the end of the installation you should be prompted to connect the usb adapter, the hardware should be found and then the installation should complete. If driver installed ok but the adapter cant find the the driver plug it into a different usb port and again the found hardware should pop up then install driver popup should show and you should select install automatically.
