A dull chain can cause this so can installing it backwards. Find a local chainsaw seller/mechanic about 5 - 10$ to sharpen. Ask for their help to relinstall it. Stihl is the best dealer in my area.
I have many chains when one dulls easy to swap in sharp one, no emergency to sharpen the dull one. HTH
