How to increase max vol further on, of my laptop gateway mx6956 as it is horribly low

Hello, You can increase the volume of your laptop by, first check the speaker and headphone icon whether it is set to 100%.You can see it in the system tray or by the right hand side at the bottom of your screen or at the control panel, click on SOUND and increase the volume. Note the software you are using like window media center, VLC player, real player and the likes should also be increase to maximum, then if your computer has an external control for the volume, make sure you increase it to the maximum. HOPE THIS HELPS

My laptop is playing sound at a very low level. All the volume controls are turned up to the max, but I can barely hear anything through the built-in speakers or through earbuds. Toshiba Satellite A101...

Usually what happens hear is that a program such as media player or a dvd player will have its volume turned down and that overides the overall volume.

The trick is finding it. You need to open up any and all programs you have used with some kind of volume control and check they are turned up then close them.

You will never get super loud sound on your speakers but they should be easily heard. I've run across this on both my tosh laptop and a desktop.

No volume with dvd on acer arcade or windows

If there are no hardware issues most probably the following are the reasons:
1. Check whether the Media Player sound is not muted. 2. Check whether the systems sound is not muted. 3. If you encounter sound problems only with dvds most probably there is no driver issue, but there can be a codec issue, install the latest version of media player and if possible install a better dvd player software. Google AVS DVD player a freeware.

I cant hear the sound when I try to watch a DVD in windows media player

Your sound control is likely turned off or turned all the way down.
Depending on your sound controller....
Be sure all levels in the "Master Volume Control" are turned up --
Master Volume - Wave - SW Synth - CD Player

Volume at 100% and sound too low to watch dvd tried with several dvds and volume is too low

Just cross check the volume settings in volume controls. All the sliders should be at max level specially Volume Control and CD Player.

If it is fine then there is some thing wrong with the media you are trying to watch or can be problem with audio driver.

Volume settings at max but sound very low

If you're playing a prepacked CD or DVD and the sound is below normal then there's something wrong with the computer. I would let the manufacturer take a look at it. If these are CD's or DVD's you made, then I'd try them in another CPU first.

Low volume

> Open Control Panel
> Sound Properties
> Speaker Properties
> Enhancements

Loudness Equalization : on

Equalizer: Choose one (Jazz seems to be loudest setting but sounds of hallway effect so I use powerful for clarity.)

This has more than doubled the level of volume on my acer 5570.
