Monitor will not find new motherboard

I have installed a new asus

As my old computer died, I got new power supply and new motherboard (Asrock K8NF6G-VSTA), and had a friend combine it with older (2 years) AMD 3000+ processor, DVD drive, etc...When turned on, it all appears to be working, but we couldn't get a picture on either one of 3 monitors we've tried (we also tried a couple of cables, just in case). While we were trying to get a picture on screen, when turning the computer on it would just turn itself off after a second, and that would happen several times before it would finally turn on normally (again, no picture). Friend tried plugging in another graphic card, nothing changed. Everything appears to be fine (well, except the turn on/off thing), but we can't get picture, and so can't install drivers from CD, etc... Any ideas?

The monitor is not the one looks for motherboard or drivers the monitor drivers is on the motherboard so if you installed new motherboard and your monitor drivers are not set or missing so you nave to download the drivers the one is going to work with your monitor and they are video drivers if you don't have the cd drivers for asus you can get them on http://www.asus.com or http://www.driversguide.com

Nothing shows up in the monitor even the cpu on

Install a new graphics card and plug your monitor into that new video card. Do u get video output? If not, the problem is the system board. If u do, the problem was the graphics card.

I have no signal to my monitor. The asus motherboard is now unavailable. It means changing motherboard, processor and memory. is it worth it? Can I salvage my hard drive if I buy a new tower system...

If you have no signal to your monitor, ther are generally three parts that can cause this: the monitor, the DVI/VGA cable (from PC to monitor) or the graphics card. If I were you I'd try to replace those first, then the motherboard. I'm sure there still are socket 939 motherboards out there, so you will not have to replace memory or processor. Just let someone at a local computer store take it apart, install the hardware on a new motherboard, put the harddisk in the system and reinstall Windows.
(the latter because drivers for the old motherboard may conflict with the new ones. If you don't have any problems with that, don't)

I hope this helps,
Yannick.

No beeps or monitor signal

Sure, a motherboard can be a dud out of the box like any other part. If you have a known good power supply, processor and memory installed, and the machine doesn't boot and you have no video, the only thing left is a non-working motherboard. Return it to the vendor and get it exchanged as defective.

Hi,

Make sure the RAM you bought is on the QVL (Qualified Vendors List) for that motherboard. I know I have had problems with ASUS motherboards and OCZ ram before (for example).

QVL Found HERE

As for the monitor, what do you mean "my Monitor gets disturbed"?

Also make sure you have the games running on the Monitors recommended resolution.
