- Are you telling me that I need a new camera? Instead of posting all the links you could have said as much. I found your response to be of smart ass quality.
sorry to hear your experience with canon. i was turned on to canon a few years ago and have been thoroughly pleased. i'm on my 3rd canon (upgrades, lost, additional for wife, etc).
i recently got my a720 a little wet and the lcd screen stopped working. it wasn't completely dark. i could see very dim images through it. doing some online research, it was determined i had a back backlight but that the lcd was fine.
i was pleasantly surprised to find out i could order a new lcd direct from canon for less than $30 shipped. i found some excellent posts online about replacing an lcd on a similar model canon, followed the instructions, and now have my old camera back to normal.
i don't think i'll ever go with anything but canon again. i had a a595 (i think that was it), now the a720, and got my wife an sd1100 when my a720 was waiting to be repaired. we've been very pleased.
I did not receive a fix ya solution; somebody sent me a post that included links for new cameras. I was put off by this smart *** type of response.
I ended up finding my bill for the camera and it still had warranty; I took it to Staples where I bought it and they gave me a 50% depreciated value for the camera. I will never by another Cannon camera and I will never shop at staples again, bad experiences with both.

The camera doesn't always take pictures when I press the button. This problem is about a week old. If I keep closing and opening the shutter, it sometimes will take the picture.

Every time i power up my canon powershot A720 is, it asks for the date / time prompt. I have changed the CR1220 battery twice but it still does it.
