Capacitors and contactors for Goodman air conditioner

Can you tell me the value of the motor run capacitors for the following Goodman air conditioners?

CKJ361AB
CKJ421AB

I also need a part number for the contactor in each unit. They may be the same but there is no way to tell since they have been serviced a couple of times and local shops don't always use the original part number.

Thanks,
John

I havent had luck in finding a part list for you but have you tried to look at the label on the motor(s) to find the capacitance? Or try on the existing capacitor? Dual caps are usually listed as 35/5uf or 35/5MFD on the actual part. There are only a few variances of contactors for residential systems normally 30-40va single pole single throw (spst) or 30-40va single pole double throw (spdt) singe throw contactors have four contacts for 220v and double throw contactors have two contacts for 220v and a constantly hot leg.

Goodman ckl30 1d outside unit not working is there a reset button on motor..should I try replacing the capacitor...something still blowing in home but not cold...I never changed a capacitor is it easy?

it probaly is the capacitor you can sometimes tell by the shape of it if it is dished out instead of dished in. you could use a stick to push in the contactor in if the outdoor fan is not running. low freon could keep the contactor from engaging.

I have a Goodman CE48-1GC outdoor unit, it just stopped working last night completely. I have verified the control switch is in fact being engaged when on A/C, however the fan and compressor are not...

A defective capacitor will prevent the compressor from starting. If as you say, the contactor is engaging, then it's either a defective capacitor or compressor motor. I'd check both, starting with the capacitor. The fact that the contactor is working, eliminates some other possibilities.

Repaced fan motor, capacitor, contactor still fan not working.

press the contactor in using a wooden pencil does it come on? if so then you are not getting a control signal from the tstat or a low pressure (low freon switch) is open stopping the contactor from pulling in

I need to know how to wire up a 4 wire motor to two capacitors. Also, i have a 45 MFD 440 VAC and a 5x370 i need to which one is for the compressor and which one is for the fan?

Each motor, compressor have there own capacitor, The 45uf is for the compressor and the 5uf is for the fan motor. If the motor has two brown wires and a black wire, white/or yellow wire the brown wires go to the capacitor and the other two go to the contactor for power. Black to common side of contactor (black)and the other to the red/or yellow side of contactor.

AFTER REPLACING CAPACITOR WE NOTICED FAN RUNS WRONG DIRECTION AND BLOWS AIR FROM SIDES,

check for proper connections to the capacitor, brown to fan, yellow to herm, common to line power of contactor, also one line power wire from common to the fan motor.

Replaced fan motor and runs backwards has a dual capacitor on unit could i have plugged in to wrong term on cap.

Sounds like you have the run wire connected to the capacitor instead of the start wire. I expect you have 3 wires; Common-black, Run-probably orange, and Start-brown. You should have either L1 or L2 from the contactor connected to the Com terminal of the capacitor. Connect Orange/Run to the Com terminal of the capacitor. Connect Brown/Start to the Fan terminal on the capacitor. Connect Black/Common to the other side of the contactor. The fan should run the other way.

WHERE THE CAPACITOR ON A GOODMAN 5 TON AC UNIT

Remove the cover where the power goes into the outside unit. In there should be the capacitor, circuit board, and contactor. There may be 2 capacitors or just one that works for the fan and compressor. If there is just 1 it will have 3 terminals and it is important to hook the wires back right so label them and write it down if you need to.

Not blowing cold air. Checked outside unit and looks clean but fan not turning

You may have a bad capacitor, fan relay/contactor, or motor. Check the capacitor for the fan, if the capacitor is ok, then check the fan relay/contactor. If this is ok, then the fan motor is bad.
