My ipod isn't working

You should try to reset the firmware by pressing on the menu button and the enter(center) button at the same time for couple seconds until the apple appears on the screen
reconnect your ipod and with itunes try for any firmware updates
once it's done disconnect your ipod with itunes and after that with the windows option in the taskbar.
Good luck

Having problems when connecting ipod to my computer

Have you already attempted to force the iPod into disc mode before connecting the iPod to your computer? If not I would recommend doing now. If you can get the iPod to connect to your computer at this point you will want to restore it using the latest version of iTunes.

Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Set it to Hold, then turn it off again.) Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons for at least 6 seconds until the Apple logo appears. When the Apple logo appears, release the Menu and Select buttons and immediately press and hold the Select and the Play/Pause buttons until the Disk Mode screen appears.
Connect the iPod to your computer; the screen on the iPod will change and say "Do not disconnect" If you are having difficulty putting the iPod model into disk mode, set it on a flat surface. Make sure that the finger pressing the Select button is not touching the Click Wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Play/Pause button toward the outside of the Click Wheel and not near the center.
If you are still unable to put your iPod with a Click Wheel into Disk Mode, use one finger from one hand to press the Select button, and one finger from the other hand to press the Play/Pause button.

Ipod 20gb is frozen on disconnect screen

What you have to do is connect the IPod to your computer and open up ITunes. Click on your IPod icon then click on RESTORE IPod. If the IPod does not connect or keep connection then hold down Menu and the center (click) button for about 5-15 seconds til it reboots. If it doesn't respond at first keep trying. My wife had one doing that for over a year and could not Restore it on her PC til she gave it to me and after about an hour on my Mac it finally Restored and it's been good since then. If you can try it on a Mac, you might loose all your music , but it will be Alive again for free. Good Luck and be Patient.

Try resetting the ipod while its connected to the computer by holding both the menu and center button at the same time for 6-10 seconds until you see an apple appear on the screen. You may need to repeat the reset. If this fails your looking at a hardware issue most likely. Good Luck.

Try doing this: Toggle the hold switch and put it back in the off position. Then press and hold the center button and the menu button simultaneously for ten seconds and the apple symbol should come up on the screen. Then it should work like normal. Hope this helps!

Ipod nano screen stays black

If your screen is black it may be frozen. If so, hold the menu button and the center button below it at the same time. If, this still doesnt work try connecting your iPod to a computer then disconnecting it. Also make sure the battery is charged.

Please rate this solution.

Ipod nano 8GB 3rd generation FROZEN!

You need to reset your ipod. Flip the hold switch on then off, then press select button and menu button at same time. Hold for 10 seconds or so. Ipod should shut off and reboot to apple screen. If this doesn't work first time try again. This should solve any stuck screen problems. Mine was stuck on pioneer screen and this operation fixed it.
