I am having a problem when I turn on my vide o camera- plugged in or not that I get a c31:23 error message with an eject sign on the camera. This is the only problem code not listed in my information book and I don't know what it means. I have tried a different battery,letting the camera charge with no tape in the machine (thinking it was overheated) and nothing is helping. Any ideas?
I get a C:31:23 error message every time I turn on the camera. I have tried everything I know to do, including hitting the reset button and removing the tape. Anyone know of a solution? The camera cannot be used with this error. Thnx

plays for about 5 minutes then screen scatters then shuts off

Having the same problem with the DCR_TRV530 error code of C:31:23 and checked wheel height as suggested. Didn't work. Other suggestions?

The camera fell off a shelf. A little rubber wheel was at the bottom of the tape, can't figure out where the wheel came from.

I was getting the same code and a dinging noise. I tried a cleaner and I tried letting the camera dry out...it wasn't wet! Neither worked. SOOO...Don't buy a cleaner. Look inside camcorder and make sure both reel turners are equal in height...they can slide down. Turn both of them...one of mine was down and also did not turn to make contact with tape. We got it to turn and the message C31:23 and the dinging quit. The stripes/bars also went away. Camera

instantly worked like it used to. Good luck.

SteinyGirl, Did you also try turning the reels to make sure they are turning the tape? Hope this helps.
