Question about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W55 Digital Camera
I dropped my camera and it was about 1 ft in the air and landed on its back on my laptop keyboard it didn't scratch or anything but the lens got stuck, a lot of these people had similar problems but I'm still not sure how to fix it. I know theres a solution so can you please help me? When I turn it on a black screen comes up saying "Access" and then "Turn the Camera on & Off" I did this and It still is like that. Also the battery is more than half charged if that helps? Please help thanks!
You have to shake your camera. i have a dsc w 55 and dropped my camera right on the lens forcing it to get stuck in an upward position. i was able to push it back down to the center but then it was showing the same screen you guys r getting now. howver i powered it back on and when the lens came out i just shook my camera back and forth and believe it or not it started working again. may take a few tried but it does work

It did work with my camera!! DSC-W55. However, before applying any pressure to the lenses, considering the following:
1. Find out the direction of rotation of the lenses (usually there are two, the larger and the smaller a the end of the assembly)
2. Only apply rotational force to the larger lens. And apply LIGHT pressure (push) to the smaller lens. After the 5th attempt it finally retracted.
As you turn on your camera the lenses have a sequence of movement:
After the on/off is pressed, the lens rotate one direction. About two seconds later, the lens rotate the oposite direction. Good Luck!

Hi, I have the same problem. I dropped my camera and now the lens is stuck and I get the message "please turn off & on camera". I have tried that 50 times but it doesn't work. Has anybody figured out a solution to this?
