I had a paper jam. I removed the paper jam already but computer says it still there. How do I reset it?

It's possible there's still a small piece of paper or dust stuck in the paper feed. Try blowing the area out with compressed air.

Paper jam in display.

take out drum unit, look at the bottom side of it. there is a slot opening in the middle. it may have a small piece of paper lodged in that slot, preventing your sensor lever thats under the drum, from working.

Brother Intellifax 2800 --message turn off and call Brother

what you want to do is unplug for a couple of minutes while checking to make sure there is paper jammed anywhere in the machine, remove all your paper from supply as well. then time how long it take to warm up or the error code comes up.

Check Paper

Check paper can also sometimes mean a jam. Remove the drum unit from the machine and check for a piece of paper inside the machine.

Also with this machines feed path it can mean that a foreign object can fall down the back and obstruct the paper.

Brother IntelliFAX 2800 - Paper Jam

It could be one of two things. First and most common is one of the sensors is dirty/stuck and a quick round of compressed air will usually take care of it. This is especially common if you have been running 3 hole punched paper as the loose punches tend to cover sensors. Recycled paper also tends to leave some dusty residue and that will, in time, obscure the sensors, along with a dusty environment or if the machine is on the floor. Another possibility is one of the physical sensors got knocked off course a bit. This could be caused by pulling out jammed paper too roughly or running lots of heavy paper through the unit. I would do a visual inspection for any bent or crooked parts.
