Re: Cannot access

To HOMSIMS05: So you cannot connect the wireless device on your laptop to the router? If it is built in it may have a literal on/off switch on the outside and it might be set to off.
You may have also have disabled it somehow and enabling it and a reboot could fix it. You could also try installing new drivers from the adaptor website.
To Guest: can you access other web pages besides that one?
If yes then it could mean that your router has the same ip address as your modem. you would have to hook up your computer with the router without the router being connected to the modem and change the ip address of the router to anything besides set it to Then reconnect the router to the modem and see if you can access the webpage.

Re: Cannot access

Check to see if the wireless device in the laptop is functional and not disabled by double clicking My Network Places and clicking Local Networks. Make sure that the wireless device you are trying to connect to has solid leds and not blinking, it would not hurt to restart the device. When it has solid leds click the wireless icon on the lower right side of the task bar, search for available networks, choose the one to connect to, and click connect. If everything is functioning correctly it will connect. BPCS

At the momenbt the router is fixed to the lap top by a cable, I want to establish a wi fi connection in my house for the lap top and iPad How do I do it please?

1. Log in to the DG834G firewall at its default LAN address of with its default user name of admin and default password of password, or using whatever LAN address and password you have set up. 2. Click the Wireless Settings link in the main menu of the DG834G firewall. 3. Choose a suitable descriptive name for the wireless network name (SSID). In the SSID box, enter a value of up to 32 alphanumeric characters. The default SSID is Wireless. Note: The SSID of any wireless access adapters must match the SSID you configure in the DG834G Wireless ADSL Firewall Router. If they do not match, you will not get a wireless connection to the DG834G. 4. Set the Region. Select the region in which the wireless interface will operate. 5. Set the Channel. The default channel is 11. This field determines which operating frequency will be used. It should not be necessary to change the wireless channel unless you notice interference problems with another nearby wireless router or access point. Select a channel that is not being used by any other wireless networks within several hundred feet of your firewall. For more information on the wireless channel frequencies please refer to "Wireless Channels" on page D-7. 6. For initial configuration and test, leave the Wireless Card Access List set to allow everyone access by making sure that "Turn Access Control On" is not selected in the Wireless Station Access List. In addition, leave the Encryption Strength set to "Disabled." 7. Click Apply to save your changes. 8. Configure and test your computers for wireless connectivity. Program the wireless adapter of your computers to have the same SSID and channel that you configured in the router. Check that they have a wireless link and are able to obtain an IP address by DHCP from the firewall.
Next, you will have to set your wireless key so that you can prevent everyone from accessing your router. To do this,
1. Log in at the default LAN address of, with the default user name of admin and default password of password, or using whatever LAN address and password you have set up. 2. Click Wireless Settings in the Setup section of the main menu of the DG834G. 3. Choose the WPA-PSK radio button. The WPA-PSK menu will open. 4. Enter the pre-shared key in the Passphrase field. 5. Click Apply to save your settings.

Hi do you know how I can connect my lap top to the internet wireless with my linksys wireless router ? the lap top asks for an access code and I do not know what it is or how to find it do you know how to...

The access code or password is the encryption key in your wireless router, without this key the wireless router won't allow the laptop/computer to connect to this wireless router.
The WEP, WPA, WPA2 encryption key is in your router's wireless settings. Log into your router and got to the wireless settings, you will need to get the SSID and the encryption key. Then go to your computer/laptop's wireless card and configure it with the router's SSID and encryption key, so it will then connect to the wireless router and the Internet.

To secure your wireless network from unauthorized access, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-

1. check your wireless adapter TCP/IP settings if its set into "Obtain as IP address Automatically".

Cannot install D-Link router

You may try typing admin on the username field. Just leave the password field empty.

Once you're in the setup page, click on WIRELESS tab which on the left side of the page. On the Wireless page, you will see the wireless settings set in the router. You may also enable the wireless security on that page if there is not security enabled yet.

Please check this for your reference

Hope this helps!
