JAMMED CARTRIDGES I did as suggested: turned off the machine, turned it back on, waited for it to stop making noises, opened it. No cartridges!

How to change ink cartridges on MP 240


Turn the machine on, open the cover and wait for the cartridges to come to rest in the centre - they may make several passes backwards and forwards until they stop. Push on the clips and the covers will raise. Remove the cartridges, replace with new ones, close the covers until they clip into place then close the machine and you are done.

My HP Officejet 4500 keeps telling my to align my printer cartridges and I have done it several times. After I align them and print something it requires me to align them again.


Try removing the cartridges, closing the printer, and disconnect the power. Let sit for at least 10 minutes, then hook up the power, wait until it stops making noises, the reinstall the cartridges, black first, then color, and if the alignment comes up again, press cancel. This should remove the error.

My X5470 makes a banging noise, and will not print. I put in brand new OEM cartridges, and it does not help. Is it dead?


Remove the cartridges from the printer. Close the cover. Then unplug the power adapter from the printer. The power adapter is the black box behind the printer where the power cord is attached. Wait at least 30 seconds before plugging it back in. When the printer turns back on and it's still making the banging noise, then it's a hardware issue in the printer. If not, reload the cartridges. If problem persists, it might be that encoder strip that's causing the problem. If this is the case, I strongly suggest you contact Lexmark Technical Support to further investigate the problem. Red light stays on and printer won't print


My C60 Epson Stylus printer is not printing. First of all the paper jammed, I pull the paper from the front and since then the catridge holder is not going to the middle to print. also the green light keepon flashing and the red light stays on. I need your help.

I get a clicking noise when I print on a Dell 3115


The print cartridge carrier could be stuck and clicking agains the wall or gears might be clicking.

If your machine doesn't work at all, open the cartridge cover, take the cartridges out, close the cover, wait for it to call the carriage carrier to the side, then turn it off, unplug wait 2 minutes, plug it back in, turn it on, open the cover, install the cartridges back, close the cover and try printing again.

If that doesn't solve the problem follow these steps

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
  3. Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
  4. Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
  5. If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
  6. If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
  7. If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though.
  8. Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
If the problem still remains
Load a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.

After you have done all the suggestions, whats the status of your printer, are you still unable to print? is the printer still just clicking? are you able to remove the cartridges from the machine or is it just clicking?


If your not able to do the suggestions or the cartridges won't come to the center, your printer has a mechanical hardware problem that will require service.

Hp c6280 says was jammed now ink system failed


  1. Make sure that the product is turned on and then disconnect the USB cable from the back of the product.
  2. Open the product cover and remove the cartridges.
  3. Close the cover and wait for a message to insert the cartridges to appear on the control panel display.
  4. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the product.
  5. Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet and wait for one minute.
Reinstalling cartridges
    1. Reconnect the power cord to the wall, reconnect the other end of the power cord to the product, and then turn on the product if it is not already on.
    2. Open the product cover and reinstall the cartridges.
    3. Close the cover and print a calibration page, if prompted.
    4. Print a self test report to make sure that the product can print.
    5. Reconnect the USB cable between the product and the computer.
    6. Try to print a document from an application on the computer.

HP Photosmart C5180 All-in-one error Oxc18a0301 I replaced 2 ink cat with proper ink. Now I get error oxc18a0301


Perform the normal assert troubleshooting:
-turn ON the printer
-disconnect the usb cable from both ends of the printer and pc if printer is connected with USB cable
-open the cartridge door and remove all the ink cartridges
-close everything without installing the cartridge
-disconnect the power cable from the back of the printer without turning off the power
-wait for 30 secs
-plug the power cable back in and install all the ink cartridges if the printer turns on
-wait the printer to initialize and stop making noises
**don't attempt to print this time
-turn off the printer by disconnecting the power cable from the back
-wait another 30 secs
-plug the power cable back in and if the printer is ready to go
-try printing a test page


Get back to me if it doesn't work.

Canon pixma MP130 is not working


The cartridge seem to be jammed at the extreme right end of my machine. Pulled the ribbon to bring the cartridge slots to the centre. Then removed the cartridges. Unplug the power behind. After a minute, plug back the power. Load back the cartridges. Printer resumes back to working mode.

Dell 942 carrier jam


This morning I replaced the cartridges in the Dell 942 printer, they jammed to the left which made a loud grinding noise and the cartridge jam error came on.

I solved the problem by turning the printer on with the top up which moved the cartridges to the right a little so I could reach back, push one down a little manually which freed them to move over to the middle.

Screen reads "Near empty Cyan" but I just replaced the Cyan ink cartridge, its full.


If the firmware update doesn't work, you can reset this error.

Unplug unit. Remove offending cartridge. Plug unit back in, wait until all startup noises have stopped. Open lid and reinstall cartridge. This will solve the fault as long as the sensor is working.

Also, please be aware, you should not have to change a cartridge if it says "Near Empty", only if it says "Ink Empty Magenta".

Also, please make sure none of your other cartridges are empty. I have seen this over and over. Two cartridges empty at the same time, and the person replaces one of them but thinks they actually replaced the other one.

Turn the power off and pull all the cartridges out. Look a the side of the cartridge, you should see a window with a little plastic tab sticking out. This tab should be blocked by a black float inside the cartridge. If you cannot see the float, and the tab is clear with no ink in it and no float tab blocking it, it means the cartridge is empty even if you still see some ink in the bottom.

To be sure plug the machine in without any cartridges. When all the noises have stopped, open the lid and install the cartridges. If you're still getting an error saying either a cartridge is not installed or is empty, then one of your cartridges is empty. Redo the previous paragraph.
