Setting Up New Denon AVR-588 / Adding Sony DVD with...

posted by bowles1 on Dec 31, 2007

When I hook up my new Sony (DVP-NC85H) DVD player to my new Denon AVR-588 with component video cables, exactly as per the manual, I seem to get no video output. I have used the set up menu on the AVR to set HDMI1 to "off" as I am not using HDMI, but rather component video cables. Also I have made sure that the DVD resolution matches my monitor, 480i.

In reading through the manual there is no reference to assigning the input when using component video input.

What else should I do? Any siggestions?

Make sure you have receiver switched to proper input as coax rather than digital
