Just to let everyone know, Its a heating problem.
Put your XBOXES in a cooler place also the power adapter is getting to hot,PUT A FAN TOWARDS IT, in other words LETS COOL THEM DOWN.

Two red flashing lights on top and two green on bottom

Two red lights generally indicate hardware failure. Two green lights indicate two controllers are connected. Both green and red lights will not be lit at the same time. The green light in the middle indicates that the console is turned on. For more help deciphering red light flashing errors, see this guide HERE.

XBox360 error codes (Three Red Lights of Death, Red Ring of Death, X-Clamp)

XBox 360 error codes are displayed with flashing lights in the ring of bi-color LEDs located around the start button, like in the picture below:

They are often called lights of death. The technical name from Microsoft is Light codes.

LEDs located around the start button can be green or red. When they get red it means that there is a problem.
When the XBox is operating normally The leds will be green. The number of green segments indicates the number of controllers connected to the Xbox.
Here a working Xbox with one and four controllers connected to the console:

If the lights are red instead of green, then there is a problem. Here the four common error codes:

A: The code in picture A, with only one red segment on and flashing on the fourth quadrant, means that there had been an hardware failure. The internal component failing is often not specified.
The light code is accompained by an error message on display, telling a numeric code that can better address the cause of the fault. The best thing to do is contacting Microsoft to find out the reason for the code. Depending on the code you may also be asked to perform a secondary error code retrieval procedure.

In the Example above E74 means that there is an hardware fault on video connections or GPU.

B: If the first and fourth quadrant LEDs are on, that means that there had been overheating. Internal fans, CPU and board must be tested.

C: General hardware failure. This means that the console detected an internal failure, but no error code is displayed on screen. Call Microsoft to get instructions on detecting secondary code or sending the console for repair. This error code is commonly called Three Lights of Death.

D: The last error means that there is a problem with the AV connection to the monitor or TV. The code is not displayed if you use HDMI connection, in that case you get an on-screen error code. Test using different cables. If that does not fix the problem, this error means that the XBox Gpu is fried. This error code is commonly called Red Ring of Death or RROD.

In the near future I plan to publish a new article explaining how to troubleshoot secondary error codes. In the meanwhile, if you need more support, you can ask a question to our experts or contact Microsoft.

Three rings are green one red on tv says error e73

Turn on unit until the red light flashes and the error code(E 73) shows up on the screen. Next insert toothpicks in the back of the console(while unit is running) into the cooling fans, this is to suppose to overheat the console and start two red lights flashing. Turn off console when this happens(unplug all cords from console) and turn the system back on.

Thank you

Will not power up starts and then stops flashing

This is known as the yellow light of death for the ps3(ironic i know because it blinks red). This is caused when the unit overheats causing solder on the board to melt and bridge(connect). Once this happens it shorts out the board causing the error you have now. Contact Sony and see if the unit is still under warranty with this site:

Xbox Original flashing green and red

Hi there!

This is known as the Christmas lights or FRAG frequent red and green error.

Most of the time the screen is blank and if you were doing work recently such as modchipping this could be caused by solder splashes on the mobo or a shot MCPX chip. Removing the MCPX chip is impossible without very expensive equipment so if you can't find any solder splashes or you weren't soldering on the board junk the whole board.

However, since you said that your xbox is original, I would assume that you haven't done any modifications yet so chances are, the xbox can't find an AV cable connected to this unit. If you do have one, please check if your AV cable is damaged (a frayed or damaged wire). Replace your AV cables and your good to go.

PS3 does not turn on. When I press the on button, red light turns green thne to yellow then to flashing red.

This is called a System Error. It is about the same as the Xjunks ring of death. You need to call Sony if you haven't broken your seal yet.

What error number does it have on the screen? It should be a white number in one of the corners of the screen. If you find out what it is, then select add more details in this question and say what the error number is.
