Format error I have a full card of photos and when I went to upload them on the computer I got a "format error" reading on the camera and now cannot access anything on it.  I just looked at these photos last night on the camera and they were fine.

Hi there, I have a Fuji Finepix S1600 camera and I want to know how I can delete all photos in one go, after I have uploaded them. I can only see a way of deleting photos individually. Thanks,

Assuming the photos are on a memory card, format the card. The Format command is in the Setup menu.

Memory cards should be formatted each time you finish downloading your photos to your computer. FixYa is full of people asking how to recover pictures from cards that haven't been formatted regularly.

I put my memory card in my computer to upload photos; and it says there are none, but, the camera is saying its full

Does the camera say it's full even with the card out of the camera? If so, the camera is telling you the internal memory is full, not your memory card. The camera will not write to the card until you format the internal memory while the card is out of the camera.

Camera memory is full. On upload, indicates no

There could be a memory card error or the Operating system may not recognize the entries on the device. Try connecting the card directly to the computer through a card reader. This might help. If not running a photo recovery software will get back your pictures. Check and try running it on the memory card. After you get back all your pictures, I would recommend formatting your memory card, so you start off fresh the next time.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS5 cant upload photos!!

Did your friend use the "safely remove hardware" function when removing your card from her computer? That could corrupt your card if she didn't. Try this...take your card to a store like Walmart that has a Kodak picture kiosk. They can usually read everything on a card. There, you can print the pics or even make a cd of them. Afterwards, format your card in your camera.

Olympus xd card formatting problems.

If you like the camera and XD cards then I would use the USB cable to download the photos from the camera. When you plug the USB cale into the camera and then into the computer, the computer should recognize the camera and set it up as another disk drive. Copy or move the pictures from the card to your Photo location. Use the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in the system tray to disconnect the camera and your done. The camera can format the XD card and the computer can read it through the camera.

I just got back from my first cruise and took so many pictures. I don't have a USB so I went to go place the memory card into my computer but it won't read the card. So when I put the memory card back into...

i know its not ideal but why dont you borrow a friends camera and usb lead, put your card into their camera and upload them onto your computer via their camera, at least then you can save your special pictures and rectify the problem later

Canon 40D upload photos - camera busy -

When you fist connect the camera, the computer performs an initial scan of all the images on the card. This can take a while with slower cards and if there is a lot of images, slower again. Sometimes an error on the card may even slow things down as well. If you manage to get your pictures off the card, try formatting it using the format option in the cameras menu and see if that improves perfomance. Otherwise a better card may be in order.

If this is the first batch of images then there would appear to be a fault with the Camera or the Card to check it out following the manual- Format the card. Take a test batch of images Try a read back or an upload to computer. This will establish if it is the card or the camera. returner either or both to the seller for replacement
