I have the same problem; when I plug the cable from the computer into the camera, in a few seconds the camera turns off. It used to work fine. Thought maybe the batteries were bad, tried new ones including the date/time battery and still it doesn't work. I'm wondering if somehow I damaged the cable or the contacts in the camera, though I don't know how I could have.

When I plug in my camera to the USB the computer does not detect it. I have tried three different USBs and tried the ports in the front and back of my computer. I was able upload pictures to my computer a week ago, but now, nothing.

I have to turn the power on to my camera when I plug my older Powershot in to the USB connection. The camera does not turn on, but the computer then recognizes the camera.

You should rule out the computer itself. Try a different computer. You don't need to install the software; the USB will detect the camera.

Before you do that you should see if any other USB devices work on that computer (like a USB drive, another camera, etc.), if not then try restarting your computer.

It sounds like the computer or the cable is the problem! Anytime I plug in a USB device I immediately get a tone and a small icon at the bottom right of the screen alerting me that there is a USB device connected.

If the PC is not the problem, then the camera may be at fault. It may be easier to take the memory card out, and use a card reader....maybe even at a retail store, if you don't want to buy one.

USB COMMUNICATION ERROR!

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as iPhoto.

DYMO LabelWriter 400 Turbo Installed but gives error message when sending prints

First of all, on Dymos you need to use original Dymo roll,.

Dymo rolls have a tag at the back, non original ones does not have it.

Before reinstalling driver you also need to run the dymo uninstaller utility that you find at Dymo website.

I will post the links for download.

Cannot download pic.s from camers to pc.

I would remove the memory card and use that to transfer the media to your pc.... I can't tell you why it is not showing up on any of the pc's. The only thing I can think of is possibly the usb cord is bad or that vivicam has special software you need to download. But you can definately get the media onto to your pc by bypassing the usb cord and remove the media from the card and place it in a folder on your pc .. hope this helps... good luck

Microsoft wireless mouse 3000; put in new battery, still nothing

nikcorra2488,

try this: plug in the USB key & check for the green light. Then go to start, control panel, & double click mouse (with whatever mouse works). Check the hardware tab and see it the computer is recognizing that the mouse is there. If it is there, it should be working fine. If not, then perhaps you need to reinstall the USB port drivers. Sometimes this will happen when you've upgraded from 1.0 to 2.0 USB ports.

Hope this helps.

My computer is not showing when my camera is plugged in

Make sure the camera is turned on, plug the USB cable into your PC first, then into the camera, wait for a beep from your PC to show it has recognized the hookup, then go to "My Computer" and look for the Fuji icon. Don't unplug the camera anytime the lights are flashing on it.

I have a goodmans gmp38g6 mp3 player its new and battery run out for first time today so ive pluged it in usb to charge and nothing happens ive tried usb port with my camera thats fine and ive tried usb...

Press and hold the reset button (located underneath the hold switch) for 10 seconds. If there is still life in the battery it should start working. If not then if should begin charging when plugged in.

Hope this helps.

My pictures won't upload

What i would do is to uninstall the drivers and reinstall them back again but just don't plug in the camera to the computer until it asks you to or not until it goes (Detecting new Device). Thats what i would do. Usually that fixes the problem. Another thing could be your USB connection is not working check it by plugging in another device to the same port and see what happens. Maybe its you USB connection. Let me know how that goes

Driver for Canon EOS 400D

This camera does not require a driver on windows XP. The most common cause of USB related communication issues is the USB cord itself. Second most common cause is the USB port on the camera as they are easily damaged. You can fix the problem by buying a USB card reader instead of plugging the camera directly into your PC. If you use the camera's USB port it will eventually fail, they simply can not last through years of plugging and unplugging and the bumping around associated with use of the on board USB port. With the card reader you simply remove the memory card from the camera, plug it into the reader and then proceed to get your pictures. It is simple, reliable, and all around the best solution to this and all problems related to communicating with your camera over USB.
