WHen draining it over flows the exist pipe. It seems like he pump is pumping to much water thru. The drain cannot clear the water fast enough and causes water to overflow onto the floor. I check the drain and it seems to be clear. Water flows thru normal...

- I live in a highrise condo and the washer drain worked perfectly lastweek and 10 years prior. I wonder if the vent pipe is clogged and other residents are having the same problems.
The drain pipe in the house may not have a local vent pipe to relieve sewer air pressure or the pipe diameter needs to be increased. I have found that if the hose end is tied into the house drain instead of just sticking it into the pipe end, (sort of like the loose fire-hose nozzle that flips back and forth) that the drain will accept the flood of water. Try that before calling your friendly plumber.

- Isn't there someone that is employed to look after problems in the building like this? Surely each resident is not responsible for maintaining the sewer.
