I was playing a video game on Windows 7 and accidentally hit what i think was the hibernate key. It went down like it was going into sleep mode and I frantically tried to get it out of what I thought was ''sleep mode''. It started up, but then it rebooted on its own with a different boot up than I'm used to. It was doing weird things like telling me there was no hard disk and when it finally booted up, it was ''resuming windows.'' I waited a few minutes and it didn't do anything so I rebooted it and this time it asked if I wanted to start it or resume windows, so I picked ''start windows.'' When it came up it told me there was no internet, and there were drives on it that were NOT there before, like a floppy drive. After a few reboots and restoring the Bios to the way we had it, there was still no luck, so I tried a format. That definitely did NOT work, and I have no idea what's wrong...my main problem is there's no internet and there are drives there that weren't there before/don't exist. What could have possibly caused this??? My friend said it might have been a RAM overload and caused the computer to try and reset itself, but i don't know. The motherboard type is Asus P5QL Pro, if that helps at all. Please, any help at all would be much appreciated.

my understanding is that if you do not have other drives in a raid configuration you do not need the raid driver loaded ,have your hard drive plugged into the first sata slot, then format the hard drive ,instal o/s and all should be good.
hope this is of help

It's very simple, the boot cd you are using is not bootable. End of story.

hi, I think you have not finish yet your OS installation, when installing OS just wait for it till you have see the start menu pop-up then there you go, you can now remove your installation CD. And express gate is a browser included in your ASUS motherboard that lets you boot up in seconds and enjoy your stuff even your OS is not fully loaded yet..

I am an advocate of ASUS boards..rock solid...Vista on the other hand...problems occur out of no where...when problems arise you always have to ask yourself" what has changed"..and work backwords from there.
