the machine won't wash - comes up with "Washer motor fault
Can we fix it or does it need a repair person. It the person recommends a new motor - would it be new or reconditioned?
-   "Washer motor fault" after running for a short period. Resetting it by stop/starting again doesn't help. Unplug for 20 minutes or longer and can start again, but ends up with the fault. A strange whining noise is coming from the washer now as well. I was told $295 for a new motor, plus $35 to install, plus tax, on top of the $96 "Service fee" to tell me what's wrong.
Do I take out the motor and bring it to be repaired instead?-   BizTron

-   Our Asko Front Washer has today started to do exactly the same thing. I hope not a new motor cos I don't have the money!!-   230793
I'm pretty sure that the problem is the coalbrushes in the motor. The coalbrushes makes connection between the communtator and the stator in the motor. Pretty easy job for a technician. Not very expencive either.

It Can be brushes or motor ir the wear is uneven if the machine has a lwr board next to the motor ( chopper board) it could also need replacing with the motor
if a repair person does it supposed to be new motor and be sure to get a factory authorized tech some parts a warranted for longer than the first year but you have to use an authorized tech if it says parts only then you must pay labor as to can you do it yourself pull the bottom or back panel and see haven't worked on one of thees so cant be specific but i like to help see if they have a web site then go to support to find tech in your area hope this helps

My asko w6661 washer will fill with water but now will not start agitating. It is about 8 years old but does not see much use since its just the two of us. I recall seeing a motor fault indicator a few days ago but I cycled the power and things went on their way. Now I have no fault indicator but things don't work. Is there a chance that there is a relay gone bad is am I looking at replacing the very expensive motor. I told my wife not to buy this stuff btw but you know how that goes. Thanks, Johnds

The panel is faulty - all pixels of the display light up and the machine does not react to any button pressed. If a washing cycle is on is continues without a problem - i.e. it most likely is only the display. Anyone an idea - Asko does not provide support in the UK ...

My Asko W6661 washing machine water inlet fault would come on so I check the water inlet line and filter and everything was ok, but the water still would not come into the machine. I than check the solenoid and found that power was getting to the solenoid but they were stuck closed. I replace the solenoid inlet and now the water does not want to stop. It will start filling the machine with water as soon as I push in the power button even if the door is open and have not push the start button. The solenoids are getting power as soon as I push in the power button. Do I have a faulty main circuit board or is it something else that causing this problem.
