the machine won't wash - comes up with "Washer motor fault
Can we fix it or does it need a repair person. It the person recommends a new motor - would it be new or reconditioned?

- "Washer motor fault" after running for a short period. Resetting it by stop/starting again doesn't help. Unplug for 20 minutes or longer and can start again, but ends up with the fault. A strange whining noise is coming from the washer now as well. I was told $295 for a new motor, plus $35 to install, plus tax, on top of the $96 "Service fee" to tell me what's wrong.Do I take out the motor and bring it to be repaired instead?- BizTron

I'm pretty sure that the problem is the coalbrushes in the motor. The coalbrushes makes connection between the communtator and the stator in the motor. Pretty easy job for a technician. Not very expencive either.

if a repair person does it supposed to be new motor and be sure to get a factory authorized tech some parts a warranted for longer than the first year but you have to use an authorized tech if it says parts only then you must pay labor as to can you do it yourself pull the bottom or back panel and see haven't worked on one of thees so cant be specific but i like to help see if they have a web site then go to support to find tech in your area hope this helps
