Question about Washing Machines

Washer won't run

My Kenmore 80 series washing machine won't run. It stopped in mid-cycle during the spin mode. There is power to the outlet. I removed a few clothes, in case it was overloaded, but now there is only a twin size comforter in there (it's never had a problem with it in there before). What else must I do?

Okay, it does fill & agitate, but I'm not sure if it will rinse/spin when it reaches those cycles.

It worked only for a few minutes in the wash cycle & shut off again. I plan on fixing it myself, if it is not too complicated. Can you walk me through it?

    Thanks!

Is anybody there? Can someone walk me through replacing the lid switch on my Kenmore 80 series washing machine (since that may be the problem, see above)?

    Thanks,

    Joel

My kenmore ad 80 series washing machine won't spin

The lid switch is probably out. Bypass it and see if she magically comes to life. Their are 3 wires to the lid switch 2 of which are live wires. Jumper them 2 live wires and see if she runs in spin.

Kenmore series 70 washer won't stop agitating when lid Is lifted.

I have a Series 80 and when I lift the lid it does not stop aggitating when in wash mode. When I lift the lid it does stop spinning when in rinse mode. As designed.

To stop wash-mode aggitation at lid-lift, using the existing lid switch and other electrical components, is not easy and not recommended. I can think of a way to do it (triple-pole lid switch) but I will not detail the idea .. for safety concerns.

To stop aggitation, simply use the main settings dial control. You'll save money and possibly prevent a fire hazard!
