Need a new DC brushless fan

The fan at the back sounds like the bearing has gone. Any idea of a stockist in the UK (preferably) of the YS Tech DC brushless fan - FD124015LS - DC 12 volt 0.08 amps

Wpc555mp3 manual, please

washing machines are lo-tech and a doddle to fix - but not necessarily inexpensive.
Many failures are main bearing due to persistent overloading (could that be your beloved?). Get a replacement bearing for a few pounds from Improvised bearing extraction is another subject, but if it's knackered then something about a piece of wood+hammer or a car jack+attachments (steel wire or steel brackets). Clean the shaft, use a silicone or ptfe spray to ease on the new one - job done. If the bearing rotates on shaft peen it fixed with a couple of sharp knocks with a centre punch.
Broken belts - no further advice needed.
Motors : may be cheaper to replace machine unless you can locate a rewind facility - these may still exist in developing nations but not Blighty. Local amenity tip may have one?
Controller: Replacement with new - see 'motor' - or eBay for a used one. Solid state controllers - you need a triac/SCR/MOSFET/w.h.y. Manufacturers conveniently grind off the type number, so you'll need a mate who works for one of the multinational semiconductor manufacturers.
Other bits and bobs like rubber seals, door hinge, etc are trivial and widely available from third party suppliers as well as s/h sources.

Can't access the preferences tab

Pls try a full master reset which if done correctly would revert the unit back to factory default:
1. Power on the unit;
2. open the front panel lid to have access to the controls;
3. simultaneously press and hold the channel up and down buttons;
4. wait till "BYE" is displayed;
5. wait till clock switches off;
6. power on again and re-configure.

You may need to restore "Region Free"
1. Power on the DVP 3005.
2. Bring up the System Menu.
3. Navigate to the Preferences page.
4. Press the following combination of keys on your remote in this order to bring up the secret menu showing the Region Code.
1 3 5 5 6 6.
5. Use the arrow keys on the remote control to change the Region. To make it region free, set the Region code to “0′ (zero).
6. Exit the System Menu.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

The UK has a standard mains voltage supply of 220 to 240 v AC. So you need a 240 v in to 12v DC out regulated power supply, probably require a secondary current of 2.5 amps. Just be careful that the connector polarity is wired correctly. Farnel /cpc sell the adaptor linked below in the uk [phone to order- pay by credit card] which looks good value and will probably do the job:

Polaroid DRA-01601A will not power up

99.9 % of the times its the capacitor which is blown. I had spent few weeks to investigate on this and ultimately found this solution. Till date I have replace two capacitors. To determine which capacitor is gone, Check on the flat silver surface of capacitor. If its not 100% flat it means its gone and you need replacement. Pl. check my attached file to understand on details of inside configuration.

Hopefully it works for you.

I am not able to upload pdf which I have created. Pl. contact me via email to get pdf file

After Recording

Unit sounds like it has a small cooling fan at the rear. A bad fan bearing will produce a noise when dried-out. Replace the cooling fan.

Technical Question

#1 Customer has using remonte control which is not same and made for the Model we replaced laser #2 we open the same unit the one we have replaced laser, put 2-3 small drops of lubricant oil on tracking mechanism (shaft) so when you forward DVD movie in frames tracking DC motor was driving that lasser more smoothly, and made the big difference. It's very critical how much resistance DC motor have while reading disc. Customer was happy -We had rersolve this without any JVC tech support.Those liitle tips nobody has -You should make a notes yourself Zack-Tech

Freeze and pixelate problems

It does not matter how much a DVD player cost you in the past (say $100+) when the laser unit is gone - it's gone! Your tech guy was correct it can cost as much (or more) to have a laser unit replaced so I'm afraid it looks like a trip to the dump is on the cards.
I had a Sanyo SX-25 DVD player (hell of a unit-used a Sony laser) but mine went the same way as yours. I don't agree that DVD players will break down after a year or so - all it means is that manufacturing them has got cheaper (quite a number are now made in the far east). I will be honest with you, I don't know much regarding Blu-Ray players though I DO know some have had problems.
Here in the UK, I can buy a DVD player for about £20 in a supermarket (about $32 in your money) and probably hack it for multi-region playback as well.
As for DVD lens cleaning discs, well personally I don't like to use them I prefer to clean the lens properly using a cotton bud and isopropyl alcohol which is much a more effective method even if you do have to take the cover off.
I hope this has answered some of your questions but if I were you, I'd pop along to your local Wal-Mart store and see what DVD machines they have in there! (:-)
