Question about Coleman (100076) Compact Refrigerator

1 Answer

Koolmate No Heat or Cold

My Koolmate 40 is about 5 years old and while the fan motor still operates fine and I replaced the power cord about a month ago it abruptly stopped cooling (or heating when reversed). I checked for continuity across the theromelectic cooler so while it obviously isnt functioning correctly it is still a viable circuit. Any other troubleshooting tips and or knowledge of where to simply find a replacement thermoelctric unit would be appreciated.

Unplugged fridge 9 months and now it doesnt cool at all

it's 20 years old, replace it,don't waste a penny into that machine, most likely you have a problem in the sealed system compressor and freon so don't waste any of your time or money.good luck,if you say the compressor and fans are running and it's not getting cold one of the lines could have rotted out and the freon gas leaked out,you can remove the back inside wall of the freezer and look at the evaporator coil,if it's running fine you should see an even frost pattern covering the coil,if you only see frost where the lines connect to the coil you have a freon leak but i wouldn't even waste my time doing that on this machine just repace it.

Fan will not work

mcdevito75 here, Most likely yes, Check the fan by carefully turning it just a liitle by hand, also check for heat at the fan motor base, close to the ceiling. If heat or fan won"t start by hand, replace it.

Compressor works but compressor fan does not

It is possible the capacitor has gone bad, cause, possibly a power surge. Suggest replacing capacitor first and see if problem happens again then I would change fan motor and capacitor. Good luck on your repairs

AC fan motor keeps burning out bearings

Hopefully they have replaced the start and run capacitors for these motors and they are rated properly by voltage and microfarad specs. These capacitors properly start the motors during each run cycle and are a vital component to the motors well being and operation. Replace capacitors

hi..Sounds like one of the solenoids is acting up.Solenoids are
electromechanical devices that can be used to turn the water
to the ice maker on/off and also operate the door/screw that
dispenses ice.It could also be a fan or motor that is making
the noise.
check it out..
thank u..
