Most of the screen cover for sets older than 8 years have been discontinued,get the size of your screen leaving about 1/8 of and inch around the screen,you can get your local lumber or hardware store to cut pexie glass to fit,get velcro and apply to sides of screen to attach glass,make sure to sand any sharp sides before attaching.

I have a 56'' RCA P56740BG and it arcs on the inside when you try to turn it on.

do not try to turn it on!
Unplug it immediately.

The power connnection is faulty internally. Open it up and visually inspect the various connection points. You should clearly see the blackened area where the connection is faulty.
It is possible to repair it yourself if you know how to solder cleanly. You may need a new cord or other wire assembly.

Projected image is too large for screen

Good Day Brian;

The warped, too large picture is the same problem, the TV has a convergence problem. ln today's electronics the first thing that should be done on any electronic device is to, reset, unplug TV from the a/c outlet for at least 4-5 minutes then plug back in. If no fix; Your TV has a circuit problem. RCA has three common problems that could cause this condition; the most common is a fuse near the fly-back, IH-VT, the convergence power board or the signal board.

Always, call a factory authorized service dealer if you are not familiar with repairing electronic equipment that contain HIGH VOLTAGE, just for your own safety.

Good Luck, Big Irish.

I have a model P56740BG and it won't turn on. I push the on button and the green light comes on and goes out but the unit does not come on. What cane I do?

You could possibly have a defective High Voltage Splitter , these are common failures with RCA's. It's not something you can repair yourself. It's not an expensive repair. I would say about $150.00 if that's the problem.
