i have a polaroid tv if that matters.

first used 20gig ps3 i bought never output to hdmi at all. even after updating to 2.50

now i have been using a 60 gig for a couple weeks in 1080p but had all lower resolutions enabled. today i took it to my friends today and hooked to a of his large computer monitor of his with a hdmi to dvi wire. played all night. came home, hooked it back to hdmi and it went back to working fine on my 1080p.

i started lifeatplaystation and then turned the tv off for just a second, then turned it back on cause i forgot to do something. when it came back on there was no picture. when i actually turned the ps3 off the screen on the tv went to blue saying no signeal. when i turned it on, it came back to a blank black screen like there was an output signal.

i did the hold the power button from red to green to red. got it working back on the composite line. went to the display settings to change to hdmi, switched to the hdmi input on the tv and then hit x for ok on the controller. it flashed from the blank black screen, to the blue no signal screen, quickly back to the blank black screen where the tv info is saying 480p sd.

i went back to the composite line, went to settings and reset display settings which seemed to reset more than that since i had to go through the clock and internet setup again. tried the hdmi and still blank black 480p sd.

now although the old 20gig i had never had the black screen it was always the no signal blue screen, both ps3s seem to work all the way up to 1080p with component. with the one i have now, it would not output component until i reset the display settings.

while im making due with 1080p component i really want my hdmi back please help

I am having the same problem, exactly. I have a PS3, an HDMI cable and a blank screen. I know nothing is wrong with the HDMI cable, or the PS3 or the TV because they all three work fine seperatly with other systems. It's the combination of the three and the attempt to play HI-DEF that run me into the blank screen problem.
I have the original remote, but pushing SLEEP and VIDEO at the same time do not bring me to any "Service Menu" that I see people talking about. Nor would I know what to do once I got to this menu if I could find it.
Can you help?

I just bought this tv on Fathers Day and am having the same hdmi input problem. I've heard you can reset the hdmi ports to possibly accept the ps3's hdmi input. Although I don't have the original remote as it was an open box value from Best Buy. If anybody could post how to get into service mode without the original remote and how to reset this, it'd be greatly appreciated.

I am also having this problem. Everytime I hook my xbox 360 up to my set with an HDMI cable, I get a flicker then a black screen on the DIGITAL-IN input.
