Addin memory to my T41

I have a T41 and no owners manual. I ordered additional memory and don't know how to install it. There are several pannels to remove in the bottom of the PC but wanted not to guess. If you could help describe where the memory chamber is.

Re: Addin memory to my T41

It should be the one with the vent holes in it for cooling. Right in the middle of the laptop. It won't hurt anything if you open the wrong one. the smaller one is for the wireless card. Oh yes just remember when you take the modules out to move the tabs to the outside of the mods. and they should just pop up and slide back really easy. DO NOT FORCE..... Then when you replace make sure they are firmly into there required slots and seated properly. I hope It helps you out and Thanks

Jeremy, You can purchase any USB external hard drive to allow yourself additional storage. These drives should be compliant with your laptop. I would recommend a Seagate or a Western Digital drive.

I suspect the video cable connections are loose, and/or video cable is damaged.

Hopefully the motherboard does not have a crack, or cracks in it, and one, or more circuit traces are damaged. (Stretched to breaking)

I suggest either taking it to a pro, or disassemble the laptop down to the bare motherboard in your hand. (Check connections, and see if components are seated. Also check for a cracked motherboard, and damaged circuit traces)

[ Circuit Traces:
Think of them as very thin copper wires on the Printed Circuit Board. (PCB)
The PCB in this case is a laptop motherboard,

I concur with what Diegotech stated.

2) The DC Power Jack may be broken.
Center Pin mount, and/or body of DC Power Jack, and/or Outer Shell mount.

Replace DC Power Jack.

3) Wires from the DC Power jack plug to the female connector on the motherboard, may be bad.

Replace DC Power Jack.

Memory Installation

it's a simple thing to do, it's a case of finding the correct bay that the memory resides in underneath your laptop. Remove a panel a time by removing the screws and remove the plastic cover panel and when you find the empty memory slot, you put the memory in at a 45 degree angle and then clip it in gently.
