In the DHCP config, you can setup the DHCP pool to be just 1 address if you want. Then setup that one address in the MAC table to ID your MAC as that one address. It will reserve that address for just your computer.

No ethernet driver

On another computer, go to the manufacturer's website and download all the required drivers. Then copy the drivers to a usb stick and copy them to the new computer. Once on the new computer, look for a file named setup in each driver folder and dounle click it. The drivers should install.

If you do the ethernet/network driver first, Windows might install the rest automatically.

Hi guru, i wish you help me please!! i condigured my wireless router actiontec and i have internet acces in my pc by cable ethernet, but when i try on my laptop by wi-fi or with my celphone, it says that...

Ethernet gives network signals from computer server with connectivity capacities. Once the ethernet is connected to your computer, once of the computers within the network structure has a modem or signal converter box to capture and distibute signals. Your computer is functioning with ethernet cable connection as arranged default. Recent computers however have wiifii capacities meaning that, the modem box is not ncecssary to make signals recognised. Recent computers have builtin signal recepticles, once the programs wireless features are enbled, any available computer networks aer detected. Howver, the wiifii makes connectivity to networks by requesting password keys if the aletrnate computers have protected the entry. Simply said, your computer is ok to function with ethernet as regular achievement. only when the ethernet is malfunct usually caused by the computer that has the modem disconnecting from yours. Your computer should actually get better networking with only one of the method available either ethernet or wiifii. Attempting to receive signals with wiifii and ethernet at the same time impedes the network speed since the structures may only allow an amount of data passage for each network on the same computer. Use the computer wireless buttons located at the system settings area to disable the wiifii until a computer request within your knownlege request to activate wiiffii. Keep in mind that once your wiifii is enabled, another computer is sharing resoruces makign the computer slower if a password was not set.

My Ethernet card doesn't work on my n845wn Intel

It's possible the drivers are not installed.. To check if drivers are properly installed for the Ethernet card, if you have win XP
* go to Start>Control Panel>System> click on Hardware tab, then Device Manager
- once you're on Device Manager, look for network adapter, you should see something like "Via Rhine II Fast Ethernet Adapter", this is just an example, you may have a different brand of Ethernet adapter
- if you can see the Ethernet Adapter and it has a green icon beside it, it should be working fine, you can also double click on it, to view the Status
- if you don't see the Ethernet Adapter on the list, look under the section "Other Devices", if you see an "Ethernet Controller" on the list with a yellow exclamation point, it means the drivers for the Ethernet Adapter were not installed, which means the drivers has to be re-installed
- you need the manufacturer cd for the drivers

*Now if there's no "Ethernet Controller" on Other Devices section, it's possible the Ethernet card is not being detected by the computer
- you may have to unplug the Ethernet card physically from the computer (computer must be completely turned off) then try to insert the Ethernet card again and boot up the computer, if the computer detects the Ethernet card, you need to install the drivers
- If the computer doesn't detect the Ethernet card, most probably it's busted. You may have to replace it.. You can also try to install the Ethernet card on a different computer just to check if it's really the Ethernet card or the motherboard that's the problem..

About ethernet

If you computer has already a ethernet card installed on it, just need to get a ethernet cable and connect it to your modem and the other to the computer and make sure the USB is disconnected already, then power off your modem and restart the computer then power the modem back on and check if internet is already working, if its not working you may need to contact your ISP and tell them to enable the ethernet connection of your modem....

Ethernet cable does not fit into computer

You might be trying to plug the ethernet cable into the modem. This is smaller than the ethernet connectionbut looks the same. If there is no ethernet connection on the computer you might need to have a NIC card install.
