Bowl Lift The bowl lift on my KitchenAid Epicurean is stuck.  It still moves, but it takes a gorilla to move it.  The mixer had only light use so far--perhaps it needs oil?  Help.

The arm holding bowl is not holding the bowl properly for mixing and appears to be stuck where the handle to move the bowl up and down does not move anymore.   Where do you find a repair place or person to fix this?

I had this problem and fixed it with some grease on the bowl lift lever. I used coconut oil for the grease as its obviously food grade. I greased the exterior which was the cause of the problem and the inside of the bowl lift lever. To get to the inside you can flip the mixer over (unplug it first) and remove the base with 3 screws to improve access. If further disassembly is reqired the C clip can be removed from the bottom of the mechanism and then slide the spring out. The bowl lift stand then comes out (you need to remove one screw if it catches) and you can easily reach inside. When putting it back together get someone with small hands. The C clip is easy to drop in the machine and easily lost.

My handle on KitchenAid KT26S1X Epicurean Stand Mixer is jammed and won't lift or lower bowl. Can you advise?

I'm not familiar with that particular model but the common cause of that fault on the ones I do work on is a broken or cracked lift lever inside the stand. You need to remove the stand from the motor housing. 4 screws going up through the stand into the underside of the motor casing at the back. That will expose the lift lever mechanism for you to identify the problem.

I removed the beater to bowl screw. how do i fix it?

Hi Mary, There is no such thing as a beater to bowl screw. If you screw the beater to the bowl then it cannot turn without also turning the bowl. Here's a link to an exploded view

Hi, I have a used Hobart A200T and the bowl yoke piece moves up and down slightly, even under a light load. It makes an annoying clanking noise. It's as if a spring somewhere is looser than it should be....

You may be correct about a loose spring. Check this:

Carefully lay the mixer on its back side to access the bottom of the mixer. Remove the cover screen covering the opening in the bottom of the mixer. Using an extension and appropriate socket, be sure the nut of the bowl lift rod is snug, slightly compressing the spring of the bowl lift rod.
