Hello,

The flashing power light indicates a short in the power supply. The heat build up in the monitor case causes parts called capacitors to blow leading to the power supply short. If you can solder you should be able to do the repair. Go to our web site at:
www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm We have pictures of what to look for. Now take the back off of your monitor and replace all of the caps that look like the pictures and you should be back going again. Be sure to use high temp parts, they will be marked 105c. The values you will need to get will be marked on the sides of the bad ones such as 220uf, 470uf or 1000uf. When you insert the new ones be sure to put the polarity stripe going the same direction as the old one comes out. If you have any questions just let me know. If you don't want to do the repair yourself we do offer a repair service for $30 + return shipping.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

Acer al1912 green power light keep flashing with no picture

Hello,

The black display and blinking power light indicate a failure of the power supply filter capacitors. This is a common issue on LCD monitors after a few years of use. The repair is easy to do you will need to open the unit and replace the bad capacitors on the power supply board. Here is a link to an article explaining what capacitors are and how to locate the one that failed on the power supply board.

No picture....green on/off light cont flash.

Your inverter has gone, its probably a blown component on a circuit board. They can be repaired, but get a quote and check that against the cost of a new one.

My monitor green light keeps flashing. I cannot get a stead display.

Flashing power light often means the monitor isn't getting a signal. When you turn the monitor off and back on, do you see the viewsonic logo for a few seconds? Try plugging it into a different computer to see if it comes on.

If plugging it into another computer doesn't work, it may be a bad power circuit in the monitor. A common problem with monitors is the capacitors going bad. If you're handy with a soldering iron, you can try replacing them yourself. Look here for pictures and instructions: Fix an LCD Monitor
