The flashing power light indicates a short in the power supply. The heat build up in the monitor case causes parts called capacitors to blow leading to the power supply short. If you can solder you should be able to do the repair. Go to our web site at: www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm We have pictures of what to look for. Now take the back off of your monitor and replace all of the caps that look like the pictures and you should be back going again. Be sure to use high temp parts, they will be marked 105c. The values you will need to get will be marked on the sides of the bad ones such as 220uf, 470uf or 1000uf. When you insert the new ones be sure to put the polarity stripe going the same direction as the old one comes out. If you have any questions just let me know. If you don't want to do the repair yourself we do offer a repair service for $30 + return shipping.
I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.
