When I power on the phone and try to use it the above message comes on. My phone was working properly up until now. I recharged it, removed the battery and sim card for a little while, still nothing. Can someone help me with this. I've read a lot of reviews on how to fix the problem but I am not sure what to? Phone is little over a year old, no warranty.

Hi, their are 2 causes to the problem you are having, now the first problem you may have is that if your battery is low then this will give you the message you are getting as the camera uses a lot of power so if the battery is low the camera will shut off and not work.
one thing to try is let the battery go totally flat so as the phone wont even light up keep playing ring tones or something to flatten the battery a bit quicker then when the phone switches off wait a minute or 2 then switch it back on keep doing this until the battery is totally dead.
once its dead do a full recharge doing this refreshes the battery and helps maintain a longer battery life. once you have done this try your camera and check if its working or not.
If after doing the above it still dont work then this would indicate a fault with the camera itself now the problem could be down to the phone being dropped or banged about or it could be down to it getting damp so if it still dont work try this switch the phone off hold it in one hand hit the phone into the palm of the other hand doing this will sometimes shock the camera into working again if the problem is to do with a faulty connection so give that a try and see what happens
failing the above the problem is going to be with the camera itself and the chances are this is going to need replacing, this is a common problem and the parts are cheap to buy how ever the job is not ease to do as it requires soldering onto the circuit board so if none of the above works your only sollution to solving this would be to take your phone into a small phone shop as these are cheaper than big brand shops and ask them to change the camera for you.
one other thing you can try is make sure you have got enough memory left on your phone to store any pictures the camera is going to take not doing this will result in the camera not working so delete some old pictures and messages etc just to rule out it being a full memory problem.
let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok
delete all kinda old messages...voice messages recorded..sms...if it is a cell phone ...and all that it is keeping memory full...after that it may not be the cause of the messages but a short memory in the phone and you filled it with photos or mp3..or other stuff if it is a cell....this will make space and it will be ok ...you do not have to delete all ..just a few to make some space ... it is possible that the photos and other media keeps the memory filled and not sms and other messages ...in fact the voice messages and the emails usually are kept on the web ...just media files and sms in the phone memory ... in the future if the phone accept a memory card get one for the media and leave the phone memory for messages...
In SE Z550i there is no option to move text messages from phone memory to external memory card. The phone comes with 20MBs of onboard memory which is shared by phone's functionalities such as calnder, to do lists, phonebook/contacts, messaging, installed games and applications, etc.
The problem that you've mentioned above can occur when you store/install other files such .mp3, photos, games and applications, etc. on your phone's memory instead of the external memory stick. Please check if there are any mp3s, photos, etc. stored on your phone memory and move them to the memory card. In future, try to keep the phone memory as free as possible from mp3s, photos, etc. and please do not install too much of games and applications in the phone memory, instead install them on the external memory. If you have already installed many games and applications in your phone please check if they are installed on your phone memory and if they are please move them to the memory card.
Have a great day!
Problem solved! Turns out that my son didn't realize that you have to call your voicemail box and delete voice messages by pressing "7" on the keypad. He thought that when you pressed "erase all" on the text message menu it erased voice mail, too. So the mailbox was full, as it only holds twenty messages. Sometimes the most obvious solution is the solution!
Why am I receiving a memory full notification?
Memory full warning notifications are shown once the SMS memory reaches 80% full, which is 80 out of 100 SMS.
The notifications show up every time on receiving a new message. On reaching 100%, "Memory full notification" message is shown and no new messages will be received until we make space for incoming messages by deleting some from the inbox.
Memory full warning notices are shown only if "Auto Erase Inbox" is set to Off in Messaging settings (Menu -> Settings -> Messaging). If set to On, then these notices are not shown. By default this is set to Off.
Go to the desktop of the phone and hold down the Menu button until the little programs task bar drops down from the top of the screen, go into each running program and close it until nothing is running except for Phone. If you have Bigpond on your phone it doesn't close in a normal way, you have to open Bigpond, go into Settings, and select Close Bigpond from there.
Try sending something now with all the programs shut down and see if that works.
This is not a question of your phone's external it says for internal or workable memory of RAM. RAM is for providing room to running application. In your phone RAM is seems stuck and you have to empty it by formatting. For that backup your data and reset your phone by entering code string *#7370# and it will work again properly.
That is really some good problem i also suffered from it what i did to get rid of the problem was that i turned off my phone took out the memory card . Then i restarted the phone and again turned it off and then put the memory card and turned the phone on again and then i saw that phone was working properly might this work for you.
