HP Pavilion dv 1000. Which driver/software do i need to install to fix this problem: there is no standby option. I have already gone to the power options but there is no tab that says anything about standby or hibernation...

You need to install all drivers of your motherboard of laptop and then only this option will be enabled in Operating system. Please let me know what operating system are you using?
