Panasonic TH-42PD25 - No red on analog cable channels but great picture on HD and DVD

I have a TH-42PD25 Panasonic TV that plays the HD channels off a TimeWarner Motorola DVR very well , but when you go to view the analog cable channels off the same box ( comp color in, or HDMI, have tried both) they have no RED in them .. And lots if noise. This all happened after I turned the power off to install a Wii ... the Wii works great, color is fine ... so I'm at a loss to figure it out .. unles there is a tuner in the TV for analog cable that is toast.... but it upsizes the Wii picture and displays it fine ?

rgrds,
mike

SOURCE: Panasonic TH-42PD25

This is a known problem. Panasonic sells a jig to correct it. I had the same problem and bought the jig for $60. It plugs into a special port in the back of the tv behind a little door. You can read all about it here: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthrea... if you want, contact me by replying and I can mail you the jig temporarily for $10 plus S&H. You'll save money and it worked for me, i just need it back.

SOURCE: Panasonic TH-42PX60U plasma TV: red blinking light

are you using a PC to feed a signal or maybe a cable with an adapter?
I had the same issue when I used one of the rear HDMI ports to show a PC display. Apparently there is a software difference between the rear and side/front ports. Inputting the PC through the side HDMI port has solved the problem for me (so far!)

SOURCE: panasonic th-50pz80 10 flashing blinking red lights

The way to solve the problem with the TH-50PZ80U blinking light problem is to not buy Panasonic Products. I have had my TV about 21 months and it has started with the blinking light problem, just out of warranty. Panasonic is aware of this problem and refuses to do recall or fix the tv unless you are within the warranty or have bought the extended warranty. Legally they are within their rights, but I am also within my rights to air my complaint and inform others of this below par product. Who wants a TV that they have to unplug for a while and pug it in again for it to work. I want to push the power button and it come's on. I will never purchase another PANASONIC PRODUCT.

Cant get my viera linked panasonic to play through surround sound

I had the same problem, so i contacted panasonic, I am including the email they sent me.

For connections of audio, so that you can hear all tv audio through the
surround system, connect either an optical audio cable or red & white
analog audio cables from the tv to the home theater. If you are using
optical audio, there is a plug on back of tv labeled for digital audio
output and an input on the surround sound system. If you plan on using
analog red and white, use the PROG OUT red and white output jacks on the
back of the tv to the AUX input on the home theater.

For video connections, to get HD you will need to be using either HDMI or
Component cables. HDMI is the cable that will provided 1080p signal (the
best HD signal), but if the source does not output 1080p, then your tv
will not display 1080p. Most cable boxes output at 1080i or 720p when on
HD stations. This signal still provides great picture quality, but HDMI is
not needed to get these HD signals. You can use component cables for your
cable box and the DVD player output to the tv for video. HDMI might give
you a slightly better picture quality but the signal will be the same.

To make the connection, you will want to connect from the cable box to the
tv (component or hdmi). Also from the home theater system to the tv using
hdmi or the video cables from component (red, blue, & green cables).

We hope this information is helpful to you.

Record a digital channel while watching and analog channel

Take a red, white, and yellow AV cable and plug it from the AV out of the cable box to the red, white, and yellow In of the dvd recorder (change cable box to the channel you want to record). Then change your TV to the channel you want to view.

Have fun!

Hooking up my DVD/VHS player to TV & Convertor box

I would just hook up the dvd/vhs player with the red, white, yellow rca cables that should of come with your unit and just go to the input on the tv to watch your dvd/vhs player. This will give you a better picture and sound while allowing you not to have to watch dvd/vhs on a channel which helps make the dvd/vhs player independent. Also if possible I would hook the converter box up with the red, white, yellow rca cables to the tv as well if your tv has more than one set of red, white, yellow plugs since it is a better connection that coax and you probably watch more tv than vhs/dvd anyway. So bottom line try to hook up both boxes red, white, yellow and watch each box on different inputs instead of like channel 3 or 4. Also to record of converter box you can run coax from converter box to dvd/vhs combo and make sure your dvd/vhs player is on tuner input or channel 3.

HELP! MY 42" PLASMA TV IS ONLY GETTING BLACK AND WHITE CHANNELS.

If you are connected to a HD cale box using component cables IE (G, R & B) then check if either the Red or the Blue has come loose or unplugged as this will cause most HD sets to revert to a black and white picture.
