This tends to happen when the xbox 360 has a failure with the graphics card. If your console is under three years its best to have microsoft fix it. they will pay shipping for you and fix it free of charge.
If your console is over three years it can be some trouble to fix. You can get a kit but you will need to know how to take the 360 apart, recognize where the problem is,and/or solder the new part in.
Comment me back if you want to try and fix it yourself. There are a few guides that are free online. Let me know what route you want to go and I can get a free guide for you.
Shoot me a message in the comments and I can help you!
By the way, some people will fix these errors for $50-$100. Just try to egt reviews to know how reliable they are.
possibly a power supply issue but that is rare, reflow is your best bet, of course that being if your warranty is up. another possible fix if you plan to sent it to sony is to do the equivalent of the towel fix for the 360, however i fix game consoles often so i know what im doing and just to let you know alot of time the towel "fix" does more damage that good
The yellow light is also know as the yellow light of death casued by a hardware failure. It can be casued ny over heating a bluray drive failure, a hard drive failure or even a powersupply failure. You know you have it when you power up the yellow light flashes then you hear some beeps then the red llight flashes. I would suggest returning it if you have that option or getting it fixed somewhere else as a last option.
If you can get it fixed for that amount I would if you think the person knows how to fix it, that should also make it playable again.
Dont worry its not about to die but................. that hairline crack could expand and to avoid this you could start by not hitting it hard or moving the pen past that line to much. You could ask any videogame seller (in stores obviously) were it can be fixed believe me they told me were this guy is that fixed my gamecube console and ds but scince i dont know were you live i dont think it would be usefull to tell you. I hope this really helps you and plkease post me a comment. By the way if you know someone near San diego that fixes ds stuff tell me because the guy i know doesnt know how to fix something. tnx

I have some motherboards of ds lite with the same problem. If you twists a lillte the motherboard near the power switch, the system powers up without a problem. When you removes torsion, the ds freezes. perhaps there are problems with some weldings. I don't know the real solution.
